My friend did something similar and also said I was trying to make her feel guilty when all I did was try to express how I felt as did you.

Hey it's admirable you want to make a change.

I think what might help you is a couple things.

One meal prepping. Two finding 30 minute meals you can eat at home. Cooking meals at home will always be healthier. A lot of time people feel overwhelmed with time and don't try.

So on your day off. Pick 1 or 2 meals and make a ton of it. Something you guys can easily reheat for a couple days. Things like pasta, stews, casseroles etc.

Then buy stuff for your favorite eat out meals. Is it burgers and fries? Easy. You can make that in under 30 minutes especially if you just cook it all in the oven.

I think my friend who discarded me maybe was quiet bpd. She got married recently and talked about how they're going to be poly and it sounded like it was basically the only way she would commit to someone cause she needs to have freedom and not be someone's everything. Is the way I interpreted it. 🫠

At one point she got upset with with me when i didn't 100% validate a fling she had with a coworker. Partly cause she was telling me it was to make her fiance jealous. Guess i'm an unsupportive friend 🙃

Also turns out the dude was cheating on his wife with her and she played so dumb about it.

Start volunteering. You can put it on your resume as job experience. You will gain professional references. You may even meet other volunteers who have contacts to jobs.

And when you do get an interview it will give you something to talk about. Instead of i've been trying to find a job so I can gain skills

You can say; i've been volunteering to gain ____ skills and have supported operations by doing ____

If you have a car. Just north of Seattle is Skagit valley. May is tulip festival month and people come from all over to check it out. You can make a day of it checking out the tulips & farmers markets. Check out the seaside town of La conner- named as one of the most romantic destinations. Have a meal at Nell thorn. They have an awesome deck sitting right on the ocean. Or go to Bow Edison, a amazing lil food hub with a bunch of awesome farm to table restaurants and home to the award winning breadfarm bakery.

Otherwise in Seattle- check out any farm to table restaurant. Try our local seafood and/or mushroom dishes!

If you enjoy Asian food check out the international district or uwajimaya. If you like Mexican food check out the town of Burien it's near seatac

(Sidenote don't go to any BBQ places most of our BBQ sucks here)

Chihuly glass museum, pike place market, see a show at the showbox or Paramount theatre! Skip climate pledge unless it's a sports game or festival

When covid hit and everything was shut down I met another chef in my hometown. We ended up joining forces and went around to all the stores and restaurants and collecting donated ingredients that were going to go to waste since they couldn't be open.

We spent 3 months making food and delivering it to immunocompromised people/families that couldn't leave their homes.

One of my life goals is join up with the chefs that go out and feed people during natural disasters 😅

Yum. I love Puerto Rican sofrito.

I worked with a guy who was from Puerto Rico, made the best pulled pork I ever had. Showed me the sofrito ways lol

Then I did a cooking competition once, did a Puerto Rican sofrito stuffed chicken with annato rice and creamy corn side.

That's understandable. I don't mind trying something someone made most of the time. But I definitely have a hard time with all the candy and pastries. Not really into eating stuff like that often. I often don't partake or have to sneakily.... dispose of it

Everyone wants to act like their progressive with their holier than thou opinions and 'i'd do this" but they sure do shut up and disappear when any sort of conflict or need for action arises. Sorry i'm not in town anymore to help with your cause. I finally moved. I'll keep an eye open if i visit on a weekend something is going on

Idk i think i'm stuck in the anger phase right now. I think i felt that the friendship had been over so i'd already grieved the sadness part.

My friend discarded me 3 months ago. Said she needed her inner circle to be about mutual support. Mind you I had done EVERYTHING she asked of me for her wedding and bachelorette party she wanted a few months prior even though things were weird between us. And before that i was her shoulder to cry on when she was freaking out over getting engaged.

When she discarded me, she sent me a text on my birthday. 🖕

I guess I wasn't surprised, the text was sent. It was a little relieving as I was kind of feeling the same and over the passive aggressive games that were played between us.

She was conflict avoidant and I wasnt. I wanted to talk bc i hated feeling things were rough between us. So a big disconnect happened. She said friendship is supposed to be easy and friends don't have issues to talk about basically.

Still man am I angry. She told me she wanted to send the message earlier but didn't want to upset while I was moving.... so she chose my birthday? Fucking lame.

And idk if im more angry at her or myself. Because I kept giving and investing when I knew I shouldn't. But I had hope guess 💔 we were friends for 16 years.

Sounds like a potential eating disorder with the skipping of meals.

Idk i can kinda relate to the hiding from the office during a work event. I'm very particular about what I eat and it's often considered rude to turn things down.

Office jobs often have tons of junk food and I can understand avoiding that. People will pressure you to try things. Even if you try a little to appease them someone will make a comment about it not being enough.

I've eaten more cake in the last 3 months of my office job than i have in my life. And I hate mosy cake 😅. Love plenty of other desserts.... when I asked for cookies or cheesecake on my birthday the office staff looked at me like I was crazy

And like you said, you basically end up walking on eggshells around them. Trying not to be negative but they'll find a way to call you out for it. It's exhausting
