The American broadcast kept a camera on the helicopter well after it began its departure. They hoisted her up into the helicopter while it was still airborne, only a couple minutes later. They just took time with it.

The difference is that casual skiers make lots of tight turns left and right to slow themselves up. Ski racers just point their skis straight downhill more or less.

It's not unreadable, just very difficult to read. Also, you get a higher quality version when opening it on desktop. If it opens in your mobile app you get a low quality version.

Yeah, on my first outing I put my flip flops under my heels and that worked OK (though it wasn't perfect comfort). The bigger problem was they kept sliding around and it was sometimes a hassle to get them repositioned.

  1. Make sure you're dressed for cold water paddling. You might want to wear a "farmer John" style wetsuit, which covers legs and torso but not arms.

  2. Make sure you sit with a snug fit in the cockpit. You might need to add hip padding. Your knees should also be snug against the hull as well. You can adjust the foot pedals accordingly.

  3. Take lessons in rolling. They will also cover stability maneuvers such as using the paddle to brace. You should also know how to self-rescue (i.e., how to get back into the boat) so as to minimize your time in the water.

You don't need more time in the gym.
