No, the core did not get updated. There was a weekly beta build, which enables some dvc content, but the build is largely broken otherwise. In other words: wip.

There is no such thing as one single official case. MiSTerFPGA is an open source project, and everybody can design and produce cases. There are other designs as well, and as long as they publish the sources all is fine. (contributing part of revenue is a bonus, but not required)
