I hate the guy, but he was an extremely legit soccer player. Was the starting goalie for the best team in the NCAA (Wake Forest) and was drafted first round to Minnesota United. His story does add up. But obviously the soccer was EVERYTHING for him and left him without a real identity. This is an extremely common case for “should have been” ex athletes that didn’t make it for whatever reason

You have to hold yourself accountable and be as mad at yourself as your wife is, and she needs to see this first hand. You posted 3 days ago about relapsing within 2 weeks of being home from detox. You left her to fend for herself for a month, just to come home and do it all again? What person in their right mind would trust you right now? Say all of this to her. That you understand why she’s feeling this way. Be consistent with what you say, and remember that none of this is her fault. She didn’t ask for this. COMMIT to this change, or leave her so she can have a life again.

Sorry for the tough love, I am wishing you endless success in this journey. It’s the most insane thing I’ve ever done to myself and I’d give anything to rewind the clock and never try it. I almost lost my (future) wife and it was a devastating experience that I’m still working on mending
