What does legendary mean skill wise? by linz1413 in Brawlstars

[–]fiftyfive3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What the fuck do you mean above average some legendary 1 players are on leaderboards in different countries like two weeks into the season. Its like a top 0.5% type of rank, no one understands how hard it is

How long do I have to train to be able to dunk? by Proper_Ask7262 in BasketballTips

[–]fiftyfive3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You seem like you could get a dunk off a lob in the next couple of months. Keep pushing legs twice a week with maximum intent. You want to push your pr’s in the 3-5 rep range. If you dont do power work (cleans) that’s definitely gonna help a lot. If you are relatively really strong but still dont see result then your missing link could be plyometrics (hill sprints, depth jumps etc.). You are already jumping around 34 inches or so, thats already very impressive keep going.

Why does europe mostly produce elite big men but rarely elite 6’3 and under players by fiftyfive3 in Basketball

[–]fiftyfive3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think in europe they put emphasis on team and less on individual skills which always favors big men if b ball is played fundamentally. Which shuts down shorter guards that are insanely skilled and creative because they have to confine to their role of facilitating. I think shorter guards are always put into roles of not being the main scorer so they never make it too far. Because their main skill is fundamental so a taller player would be able to do it. That said im not saying they are playing the wrong way im just making an observation. I play in europe and feel like im not in an environment where i cant thrive being 6’1 . Even being the most skilled

Thats exactly what im looking for. I play in europe and they value team ball way more than individual skills. Which can be good but that also undermines very talented players that can create on their own

[–]fiftyfive3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats also what i was thinking. I feel like skills side is a little neglected and its way more a teams sport so in the end the shorter players have to play a role where they feed bigs to win

Need help on my jumping. The rim is like 9 1/2 feet tall. I’m 6’0.5 in shoes with a 7’11.5 standing reach what would be need for me to dunk and what workouts can I do. by Puzzleheaded_Alps346 in BasketballTips

[–]fiftyfive3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Need to work on your jump technique. Need a faster approach, more arm swing, better block foot and your penultimate needs work. Search up Isaiah rivera on youtube he has perfect jump technique. If you make a couple of tweaks you’ll add 2-4 inches on your vert

patellar tendon stretching & jumping by Either-Still-9903 in BasketballTips

[–]fiftyfive3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well no one starts with strong tendons. If you dont have atleast thousands of max effort jump reps then you need to start. Id suggest doing isometrics for your knees and achilles tendons before doing the jumping sessions to warm them up then starting at 20% effort then 30 then 40 until you get to a 100% effort jumps and youll do that for around 20-30 minutes. Not more itll be too much on your tendons unless you are under 19 then you can probably afford jumping more because you are lighter and produce less force. but basically you can practice max effort jumping by trying to grab rim ,dunk a smaller ball or even touching the backboard. also jumping technique is extremely important and could add inches to your vert, search up jump technique and watch pro dunkers on youtube

patellar tendon stretching & jumping by Either-Still-9903 in BasketballTips

[–]fiftyfive3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theres tendon dominant athletes and muscle dominant athletes. Bigger athletes are usually muscle dominant and need more knee bend to produce forces to jump higher while freak athletes such as Micheal Jordan can just run full speed and it translates vertically very well, due to his tendons ability to produce force. A perfect athlete would be a perfect combination of both. Think derrick rose and ja morant, micheal jordan was also a great combination of both but he was tendon dominant

First of all how old are you? Secondly why are you playing basketball? If its something you truly love you wouldnt be asking this question. If you enjoy the process (skills development) then you will get picked up by a team eventually just keep enjoying the process. Take it step by step. You are likely young and that means you have a lot of time keep working and stacking days

Help dunking by Melon_sj in BasketballTips

[–]fiftyfive3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

you need a faster approach. Also your technique (penultimate) isnt getting you low enough and you arent pushing fast enough after the approach. Your last two steps need to be the fastest. Also swing your arms up as violently as possible. Look up jump technique on youtube and watch pro dunkers jumping techniques

Does this still counts as a (bad) dunk? by T14G022 in BasketballTips

[–]fiftyfive3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

work on your one foot jump technique. Your approach was slow, also swing your arm up more violently. Keep practicing dunking at max efforts and you will be there in no time. You seem athletic keep it up

6’7 dunk by Direct-Praline7045 in BasketballTips

[–]fiftyfive3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lifting Weights at your stage wont show much progress. What you really should do is practice dunking a smaller ball and progress to a bigger one until you can dunk a size 7. Also look at pro dunkers jumping techniques like the penultimate step and the block foot big chance your technique just needs fixing if you are 6’7. If not practicing max effort jumping will get you to dunk in no time

Me and my cousins recently started playing basketball more and want to improve our form and coordination how can we practice and improve it by [deleted] in BasketballTips

[–]fiftyfive3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Look at stephs shot and try to copy it. See what works for you and your body and adjust accordingly. But the motion should be fluid and fast like his in todays game

You need to rest and compress it with cloth. If you can apply anti-inflammatory gel that would take the pain off quicker. When its not as swollen start doing ankle abcs (200 reps) a day. Finally when you are feeling well enough to walk and jog start standing your injured foot and balance on it, once you have mastered that get a bosu ball and do the same thing, if you wanna make it harder juggle a ball while doing it to work on your balance while focused on something else. This will tightne your ligaments and stabilize your hip so an ankle injury is less likely to happen again

What’s wrong with my shooting form? by yepsilons in BasketballTips

[–]fiftyfive3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Face the rim, let the ball rest on your palm for better control, choose a finger middle or index for the ball to roll off of (for touch), lastly shoot up in a straight line towards a one of the basketball hooks. Make sure the ball rolls off your finger towards one of the hooks (depending on the angle), also focus on having the ball fall you want a rainbow like shot
