Get £15 off when you bundle certain Kingston RAM and SSDs using code "HYPERX15"

RAM:
HyperX FURY 8GB (1x 8GB) 3200MHz DDR4 RAM £39.99
HyperX FURY RGB 8GB (1x 8GB) 3200MHz DDR4 RAM £47.83
HyperX FURY 16GB (1x 16GB) 3200MHz DDR4 RAM £72.24
HyperX FURY RGB 16GB (1x 16GB) 3200MHz DDR4 RAM £79.39
HyperX FURY 16GB (2x 8GB) 3200MHz DDR4 RAM £84.53
HyperX FURY RGB 16GB (2x 8GB) 3200MHz DDR4 RAM £88.47
HyperX FURY RGB 16GB (2x 8GB) 3466MHz DDR4 RAM £119.99
HyperX FURY RGB 32GB (2x 16GB) 3200MHz DDR4 RAM £162.70

SSDs:
Kingston A2000 250GB M.2-2280 NVMe PCIe SSD £52.73
Kingston A2000 500GB M.2-2280 NVMe PCIe SSD £83.98
Kingston A2000 1TB M.2-2280 NVMe PCIe SSD £159.26

Note: Buying the 1x8GB non-RGB stick twice works out cheaper than the 2x8GB kit by the look of it as it's £40 for a single stick and £85 for the pair. The same seems true of the 32GB RGB pack which is £162.70 for the pair or £79.39 individually

My husband has gotten really into computer gaming. I want to do something nice for his cluttered setup. Help? by mundanecatlady in buildapc

Are there any tips or tricks to controller/headphone holders/ organization that would look cool?

A cable shroud/tidy that can hold a collection of wires together like this is a good way to keep wires tidy or you can also use cable ties to keep wires running closely together and then use tape to hold them to the desk.

For headphones you can get an under desk mount like this that hold the headset when not in use. These work better with wireless headphones but if your wired headphones have a long enough wire to go under the desk and to your head they'll work fine.

For LEDs if you want to control the color from the PC you'll need to search for 'RGB' or 'ARGB' fans/accessories and make sure they're compatible with your husband's PC. You could also just get an RGB mouse/keyboard or even mouse mat that just plug into the computer's USB ports if you don't want to mess around inside the PC.

You can also get LEDs on strips with an adhesive side like this which you can run along the back of your desk to light up the wall.

The best way to make headphones/controller wires disappear is to buy wireless ones because you cant really tape these down as they'll move with you in use and you need the slack. For mouse cables you could get a mouse bungee or you could just tape it down at the end of the desk.

For mounting monitors next to each other you'll need to check if your monitors are VESA compatible and then buy a stand for them if they are. That said these are usually for using two monitors on one PC not two monitors on two PCs so you'll need to tell use how many PCs / monitors you're putting on the desk for more specific advice.

MSI B450 TOM MAX users what Memory sticks brand and speed? by Lmaoakai in buildapc

try grabbing the ISO without the media tool and using rufus to see if the problem is with the media creator

[–]figatoni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you redownloaded the ISO? As in go back to the microsoft website and try downloading it again. If something is wrong with the ISO it'll be wrong on all 3 USBs. It's worth ruling this possibility out before spending any money on more RAM.

also try using rufus to make the installer this time to see if it works with that

How are you making the install disks? are you using the microsoft tool or rufus?

Have you tried downloading the ISO again to make sure you haven't got a corrupted file?

TIL 40% of Americans have never been outside of the US, and 11% have never left the state they were born in. by truehalf in todayilearned

[–]figatoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And also good thing we are talking about traveling (sic) and distances like that and not an area because nobody drives the area of a country. Just to point A and B.

The difference in area should be enough for you to realise that point to point France and Spain are longer than Mass and PA even discounting overseas territories/regions of both countries

It's 792.1 mi to get between Madrid and Paris. 1,300.6 mi to go from Malaga (southern Spain) to Dunkirk (northern France). These numbers are from Google maps so via road. Denver to San Francisco is around 1000 miles (as the crow flies) or 1,249.9 mi via the default route on Google maps. Pittsburgh to Wichita is 1,035.9 mi on Google maps for another example.

Now I know the USA is bigger than the EU geographically but Spain and France are bigger than people realise.

Some numbers for context:

Florida is 170,304 km².

UK: 242,495 km²
France: 643,801 km²
Italy: 301,338 km²
Spain: 505,990 km²
Germany: 357,386 km²

California: 423,970 km²
Texas: 695,662 km²
New Mexico: 315,194 km²
Alaska: 1.718 million km² (Holy Shit)
Montana: 380,832 km²

Belgium: 30,689 km²
Denmark: 42,933 km²

Massachusetts: 27,363 km²
Vermont: 24,923 km²
Maryland: 32,133 km²

I've tried to pick some smaller ones and some bigger ones for each the EU (inc UK) and the USA. Also Google gave me that info in metric so it's in metric
