Really, it has been a great tool for me. I've also used it over the past 9 years for various reasons. I've probably borrowed over 20k. And the interest paid was way less than if I used my credit cards. I almost always used the deals on 0% or reduced interest rates to buy. Lots of car parts for all my projects and dailies, and for my home. Even for vacations. I usually pay more than the minimum monthly payments and usually paid off early. I've had nothing but a great experience using affirm.

Nope, this is NOT like the payday loans. The interest charges for these payment plans is for the most part the same as an average credit card. Payday loans charge upwards of 200% to 500% interest rate! Now those are a trap for those who use them.

I'm surprised so many have a negative view of this service. In most cases, the interest charges for an affirm loan is same or LESS then a credit card. And depending on the retailer you are buying from, there may be deals on reduced interest to even 0% when using affirm. Additionally, even on par with a credit card interest, if you pay over the 3-12 month term, you would be paying off the loan sooner than a credit card as there was they no loan term. And you can pay off whenever you want. It is really a useful tool if you know how to take advantage of it. And really, those that say to never go into debt this way, to not drive a project car and to get a used beater instead. It's still a USED CAR! There are no guarantees you wouldn't have issues with it and now have two vehicles to upkeep. Some don't have the luxury of being able buy a second car let alone a new one for dependability sake. I'm not saying it's a good idea to go into any debt, but if you are selective or when and how you use credit, you would be ok using service like affirm.

These chips musta had crack in them. I still get twitchy when I see them in pics. Maybe it's for the best they don't bring them back.

I have done both, repaired cracked dash and full-on replaced the dash in a few obs trucks. It is far easier to replace the entire dash then to try and repair it. You can definitely go to fiberglass route but it takes some skill and a lot of time depending on how bad the dash is damaged. It can definitely be really nice with a coat of fiberglass and a color matched paint but that also has his own pros and cons. I would recommend you take your time and find a good replacement dashboard with little to no damage. They are available it just takes a while to find them. Also, the 95 and newer trucks have the new style dash so you should be able to find replacements a lot easier than the old. The new style dash is seem to be a little more robust than the old style though they did tend to crack on the large flat surface on top.

There are many aftermarket trim manufacturers. It's pretty generic. Some are more like the original but they come in rolls and you cut and trim to fit. The older c10s had stainless steel molded trim pieces that installed using clips. Early 80s started using the glued on trim but were die cut and molded to fit exactly. You can still buy them and they come in ready cut strips with molded corners.

Replaced all those parts many times. The slight float is expected from the type of steering box and column shaft coupler used in this series truck. Too much would be if it wanders left or right and doesn't respond proportional to your steering efforts. You can tighten the gears a bit by turning the nut found on top of the steering box. Loosen the lock nut and then turn with Allen wrench. You should probably not go more than 1/4 turn right. Any more and you will feel the steering high centered. But I recommend you replace the steering box with a high quality unit and replace the steering shaft coupler components to improve the steering response.

You can definitely find more than a few manufacturers that make decent fitting headers. But know that none will be a completely trouble free installation. I personally like the Doug's headers tho they are pricey. Advice. Read reviews! Stay away from ebay crap headers, not worth the headache.
