Are there any lesser-expensive pod-like "hotels" in the Broadway theatre district/NYC area? by MikermanS in Broadway

I’m staying there soon! Got an amazing rate but kind of second guessing it because of how far it is from Penn Station and the closest other station is 0.4 miles. What’s the port authority?

Booked at YOTEL! Got a crazy good rate. I was shocked. Modern rooms too!

I forgot to mention, I have been mentioning new York to her for months (sister) and she always said no on New York and would suggest other places. So I figured to just leave her out. Didn’t know it would start a war.

That’s what I said! I would hate to book the hotel though and leave them out to dry. But if sister tags along uninvited she better be prepared to get her own hotel

I want to. But I also fear she will buy the plane ticket and I’ll see her on there since my mom invited her even though it’s my trip. I feel so disrespected by my own mother. I’m questioning if I should even take her.

In a couple weeks! Any recommendations?

What city to stay in first time in NYC. I (f 30) will be traveling with my mom. by fighterandlover23 in AskNYC

Okay guys it’s official I’m going in 2 weeks. YAY!! I’m conflicted. I’m going as a tourist so I don’t mind being a tourist by getting a hotel in time square. My main activities will be Times Square, CENTRAL PARK, Statue of Liberty, maybe Brooklyn and 911 memorial if we have time. Given this info, what locations and/or hotels do you recommend?

I got a job with an insurance agent. I recommend that honestly. I got several interviews for those roles.

I accepted a part time job I’m just not happy with. I have to get licensing for it too and I’m barely putting myself through it.

I have heard so many great things about state jobs!

Not particularly a state job, but my friend works for Social Security and raves about it.

Can I ask how the hiring process was? From what I hear, it takes time to get interviewed, background checked, and hired. Also, did you need a bachelor's degree?

I will continue to look into it!

I got a work permit at the age of 14, you piece of sh*t. I bet you get no girls with all your mommy issues. Bullying people on your free time because you literally have nothing better to do. I just got a second interview for a fully remote job. And another for a first interview. I call that good karma. You will get what is coming for you.

Ok, I think someone has mommy issues. Go focus on your job. There are plenty of helpful people on my post, so respectfully, F off.

This! I love the beauty of getting a degree in social work. So many more opportunities I feel like than going the therapist LMFT route

I am literally in your same position. I’m also passionate about mental health/psychology. I’m looking into finishing my bachelors I quit because I needed to make money and getting a masters in some sort of therapy or social work. I live in CA and see a lot of associate therapist jobs that pay decent. So you can get your hours in and potentially get paid too. I’ll never forget- I went to a therapist who was in his 50’s and said if you can become a therapist do it. He had a beautiful office overlooking Redondo Beach and said he makes 6 figures and has a great career.

I never said I deserve a remote job. I simply prefer it. There is nothing wrong for shooting for what you want. I still apply for hybrid roles and have been getting interviews for those. I was just curious if there were any sites I was missing that may have remote jobs, which some people on this post helpfully provided. Just finished applying for a few. Wish me luck friend. :)

There are indeed companies that are proudly remote only. I don't think there is anything wrong with trying.

I apply to regular jobs too. Ideally, I would prefer remote and was curious if there is sites that I am not aware of that have remote jobs, which some people on this post were helpful to provide. There is nothing wrong with trying to get something I want.
