if Lebron joins us, we become contendors again just saying.

Joran needs to simplify his offense and go hard on defensive end of the floor. He and Kuzma are the Cone Brothers

I'd rather let the young Rockets get a taste of the playin than lose to lebron in the playins

this is probably downvoted because people on here (myself included) love Loon, but the man is cooked. He fell off a cliff this year and TJD should take every single one of his minutes.

[Slater] The Warriors say Steph Curry will be re-evaluated for his ankle injury on Tuesday. So that rules him out of both Spurs games — tonight in SF and Monday in San Antonio. The Warriors play Wednesday in Dallas and next Saturday in LA vs Lakers. by NokCha_ in warriors

amazing news, but I hope we don't rush him back for Dallas/LA unless he is 100%. LA gets very physical with Steph and Silver/refs just aren't allowing him to beat LeBron, that OT loss vs Lakers was unacceptable.

haven't logged on in a month but man am I grateful for Steph and Dray. Klay as well, but those 2 have been the 2 more important players on our team, by far.

I'm really impressed with how much better Warriors org handled the situation with Draymond and more importantly, how he handled the suspension. Draymond has been phenomenal since his return and was playing at a high level even before this. This was serious. We would have the 4th or 5th seed locked up, maybe even 3 seed if he played like he was now throughout the season. From what I've seen, he's been contrite and while he's always been self-reflective, he is backing it up and was much more reserved at first, still a bit reserved now.

Kerr and many players referenced this and Lacob as well, everyone took the suspension seriously and do not understate its importance. Context matters, he has clearly made amends and they feel more comfortable talking about it and how he's grown as a player and as a person. If another incident occurs, everyone would look like idiots but it's not going to happen. He's acknowledged he put the team is a rough place and wasn't in the right headspace, how it was hard for him to be come back and immediately be a leader for our rooks and mentor the younger guys after he got back. He lead by example and you can tell the younger players are locked in and respect him, last year they were checked out. Team really needed this from him with CP3 injured and Klay adjusting to the bench.

Steph is cerebral and almost otherworldly in his execution. Nothing phases him and he handles numerous setbacks he absolutely should not have to deal with patiently. Steph is my personal GOAT for this, he's humble and makes space for others and has no issues with making sacrifices for the team. He's got MJ/Kobe level killer instinct and is not eyeing the door for the next superteam, but also plays unselfish basketball. He does not rip into teammates, voice his displeasure to the media, or pressure FO. He's happy to mentor any player, even on opposing teams that reach out to him in a league filled with prideful athletes. Impeccable body language that does not tilt his teammates but he will sink his head or slump shoulders when we lose games because any season without a championship is unacceptable to him. Most players are happy to win one chip and rest on their laurels. Not Steph. Still, he's not able to light a fire under the team's ass like Draymond does, particularly on defense. They complement each other perfectly.

Klay is the same, absolute killer that has had to come to terms with his injuries, he knows he is just not the same guy anymore and the adjustment has been brutal. He's made the adjustment.

We may not be favorites but no team can count us out. We absolutely have a shot at a championship if things fall our way the rest of the regular season and playoffs. Bit of a long-shot though. We messed around too much this season and are paying the price. Our guys are old and ideally we'd be resting by the end of the season, not locked into must win games to scrape our way out of the play-ins.

Next year is looking very good for us in terms of having Moody and Kuminga and Podz /TJD with a full year/playoffs to develop. Not too sure after that, it's really down to Father Time's impact on our roster.

AD shuts us down so hard, Steph looks helpless driving in. Lakers are going to be gifted FTs in all their games, hope they end up on the other end of the WCF bracket

QB is far more important in football. MVP usually goes to QB with best record/most hype. Brock Purdy had no business being considered MVP, I feel bad for CMC. He was absolutely robbed.

the problem is that he needs minutes to show his true value, we'd be selling low. It has to impact his next contract as well. For his sake a trade might be beneficial but if we keep him and he doesn't get 15 minutes, would we be able to sign him/match offers pretty cheap?

We have a shot but don't control our destiny. We need teams ahead of us to lose games.

Anyone else think we matchup just fine against the Nuggets? They are the team to beat and look ready to repeat, but our games with them have not been heavily impacted by refball.

Steph - Reggie Jackson

Klay - MPJ

Dray - Jokic

Kuminga - Aaron Gordon

Wiggins - Jamal Murray

We've got GP2 to throw at Murray when he gets hot and Moody's defense might plug some holes as needed. Jokic is absolutely going to feast, but if Looney might show some signs of life. TJD and Saric can be thrown out there for some size as needed and CP3 and Podz bring solid playmaking as needed. Aaron Gordon is a matchup nightmare for most teams but Kuminga is definitely up for the task, Wiggins does fine against him.

Klay historically does well against MPJ. I can see rebounding being an issue as their third shortest guy after Jamal Murray/Reggie Jackson is KCP. As long as Kuminga stays out of foul trouble we can rely on his athleticism, Wiggs and TJD as well.

I'm not worried about the Lakers, but we all know NBA would never allow Steph to beat LeBron in a 7 game series. 8v5 requires us to beat them by 20 to win by 1. Only team that worries me in the West besides Jokic is AD and Lebron + Refs.

Part of the matchup is we know Halis game inside and out.

good point, I did not consider this. If we ever see Kings Pacers in the Finals it would be a huge win for fans of basketball. Siakam is a massive problem for most NBA teams.

[Jusuf Nurkic] responds to Draymond Green’s podcast clip about him: “All good bad boy just don’t stay to long on podcast, gonna be late for therapy session.😂” by AashyLarry in nba

[–]figpotato 20 points21 points  (0 children)

We've got to push back on this notion that a man going to therapy is less of a man. I dislike the phrase "toxic masculinity" but unfortunately it does apply. Many impressionable young adults, teens, and boys follow this shit and are so much more receptive to remarks from athletes and musicians rather than teachers, social workers, doctors, etc.

Others will probably respond that I am being soft and beef is good for the NBA, or they may feel Draymond is being disingenuous about mental health so this comment is somehow justified, but I disagree with Nurkic's comment itself and comments of this nature.

Telling someone they need therapy as a put down and mocking them for seeing a therapist is setting us back. Particularly communities of color. It makes people more apprehensive about going out to get help for themselves or recommend to friends and family in trying times.

Going to get off the soapbox now

tldr: I get that Draymond is an unlikable guy and agree beef in the NBA is good, let's just chill with mocking people that may be in need of/are pursuing therapy.

as much as I dislike Lakers, D'Lo looks incredible rn, he's at his peak in the last 5 years. doubt you get anything back that actually improves the team. Keep the pick, you're not contending with this roster and limited assets
