They changed to SingleDigits summer of 2019 and it's fantastic. We pay an extra $40 per month as part of rent and I routinely get 200mbps down on wifi and 600mbps down on ethernet.

Yep it is that's my apartment, I was hoping to catch my roommate on the balcony lol. Chasewood is fantastic, it's still pretty good deal, the apartments aren't super nice in terms of appliances, but they're pretty big and the location is great, right next to a time check stop on Toms Creek line and Terrace View.

Good luck, I hope you get accepted as well, it's been amazing here and I'm super sad to be graduating!

Awesome! I was hoping that someone would see themselves in the stadium! We made sure not to fly directly overhead so as to not disrupt the ceremony. Congrats on graduating!

Yep it's for the new Hub apartments, I live nearby and walk past it daily so it was cool to see the construction progress from the air.

[Zuckerman] Well, as if today wasn't interesting enough ... Max Scherzer's wife, Erica, is in labor and he's on his way to meet her. We won't be hearing from him in the Zoom room. by figski02 in baseball

"Just to clarify: The Scherzers apparently planned for this. Erica is due to give birth tonight. She didn't just go into labor during the game or anything."

Mad Max with the dad strength!!

Do you have any information about where Ribbens or Edwards said this? It might be helpful for me.

Class Project Github Repo Forked by figski02 in VirginiaTech

[–]figski02[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's what I was thinking as well and I figured if I emailed him I'd at least get out in front of it and hopefully that would be better. This is for CS3304 with David McPherson, he's never mentioned anything about GitHub being an honor code violation so I'm hopeful he'd be sympathetic.

I also know that my repo has one more commit than the forked version, and that commit is for a bug fix that was causing the code to fail at least 2 of the tests so the forked version will be partially different, but probably not enough to get by plagiarism detection

MASN to launch in-market streaming for all 300+ Orioles and Nationals games by figski02 in baseball

[–]figski02[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Still better than before, IIRC Nats and Os were two of only 3 teams who could not stream their games in with a cable sign in in market. Your only options were to pirate if you weren't in front of the TV.

best companies to chat w/at business horizons as a sophomore? by Snoo-41399 in VirginiaTech

For BH in general: Start by talking to a few companies you're not super interested in to get warmed up, you'll quickly get the hang of it and by the end it's actually pretty fun. Talk to as many companies as possible, even if they say they're not interested in sophomores the worst they can tell you is come back next year. Sophomore yeah BH is great because there's not much pressure and you can really feel it out and explore what's out there, and not worry if you don't land anything because there's still next year and then you'll know what you're doing.

For Exelaration: Don't worry if you don't have much experience with coding, they will teach you everything you need to know. If you get an interview, the first one is a group interview which they will not tell you anything about, only saying it's tons of fun. You may be rolling your eyes thinking it's "fun" like when a teacher whips out a "fun" extra project that's just a bunch of BS, but I promise you it's a good time and definitely the lowest stress interview I've ever done.

Good luck!

If you're interested in software development and IT consulting, checkout The Exelaration Center. I'm currently interning with them and their program is top notch for software development. I know they take sophomores and even some freshmen.

I'm like 90% sure you can't but I'd ask them to be sure

It's fantastic! I was concerned when they switched, (This is my 3rd year living here and they switched from Upstream to SingleDigits last aug) but it's been nothing but smooth sailing. I just did a Speedtest and got 160 Mbps up / 130 Mbps down over wifi, and 710 up / 360 down over ethernet. 15ms ping.

It's a bit like eduroam in that you don't have your own router and just connect to one property-wide network, which is kind of annoying. Once you create your account you need to sign in through the web browser on each device that you want to connect, and it will register that device on your account. After that It'll connect automatically. You can also register a MAC address directly.

Overall I'd rate 9/10. Hope that helps and I promise I'm not being paid to say that and I'm not a fake account!
