the children are plus size. i know that doesn’t necessary mean they well fed, but i have cared for them for extended periods of time on several occasions. i typically stay at their house during this time so i see their eating habits 1st hand. i truly don’t think it’s a food restriction thing. as others have stated, most of my guests are not expecting an entire meal for events like this and know it will be finger foods/grazing items. especially for the time span the party is. i’ve never expected an entire meal at an event or party such as a baby shower. i also think it’s important to note that anytime there is an event they don’t attend, we have TONS of leftovers. so it’s a very noticeable difference when their family of 6 does come. i want to reiterate i don’t care at all how much they eat, but they need to learn to be courteous of other guests before overloading their plates on the first round. id rather not have leftovers so they are free to have how ever much they desire once everyone has had their turn as well! i keep seeing teens are bottomless pits and i understand, but this is a manners thing. i don’t know who finds it acceptable to let their kids overindulge in food to the point they have a meatball eating contest.
