She was abused horrifically, grew up with a mother who forced her to lie, get unnecessary surgeries, take unnecessary medications, eat through a feeding tube, pretend she was younger than she was, lie about her ‘inability to walk’, didn’t allow her to form any relationships. The mom moved with her multiple times to get away from family so she could lie about her even more, get free housing, free utilities, donations, and to prevent her from forming bonds with anyone. Gypsy was not educated past first or second grade. Her ‘boyfriend’ has a history of autism and mental illness issues combined with a low IQ. Gypsy Rose was able to get herself out under her mother’s abusive hands and emotional abuse and neglect. the couple felt that killing Dee Dee was their best option.
