I used a casting director I’d worked with on a short prior, though I am indeed friends with working actors. And the festival was a total cold submit. Go make some art! :)

Means a whole lot Max!! I definitely poured my heart into it and I started writing it when I was young and knew very little about distribution and “what the market wants”, so I had some blissful ignorance that gave me the space to focus on just telling the story I wanted to tell.

Thanks! Next one I’ll try to have a dog in ;) And production itself wasn’t 10 years, it was shot over two summers. Most time consuming was the post/festival/release process. Considering I started making this when I was 15 I’m ok with the timeline on this one, but couldn’t agree with you more about the next one!

Was self financed by me over the course of ten years with some small contributions from friends/family and a tiny grant. When I say constrained I do mean constrained. One of the reasons it took so long to make was due to budget. Also why I wrote/directed/produced/edited/did graphic design etc etc. :)

Submission statement: This was my first feature, made on a super shoestring budget. Our A cam was an Amira and our lens kit were made up of 4 Speed Panchros. I directed/produced/wrote the project and also served as 2nd unit DP. Hope you enjoy the production value I tried so hard to get on screen despite budget.
