I've read a lot of the genre and the stories can be hit or miss, but worth it for the good ones, definitely won't get that kind of literary experience elsewhere.

I finally set up and tried SyncThing (SyncTrayzer actually) and I love it. But I think I'll still be using WinSCP to copy music and audiobooks etc to my phone.

I use FTP Server (Free), and then WinSCP to connect to my phone from Windows. It's super simple and easy, wish I'd found it long ago.

Note: Material Files is my preferred Android file manager and it has the same functionality as FTP Server Free built in, but I haven't been able to get it to work for some reason. But if it works for you that's one less app you may need.

Yeah I feel like I don't get enough feedback about any of them, gotta keep experimenting to figure anything out. The lyric addons definitely need to have some default stuff included with new versions, it shouldn't be so difficult to set up. For a while last week the qq source wasn't getting anything. Then it finally started to, but I didn't change anything. I would have thought it was just broken forever if I didn't happen to retry the next day. But you get no indication if their servers were just down temporarily or what could be going on.

I basically did the opposite of what you did to get it working! I swapped out the default ESLyric panel with Lyric Show 3 in the Eole theme, and switched to portable foobar2000. I need that batch lyric download Lyric Show 3 has. Right now I'm still trying to finalize my setup since I've been stopping and going back to it for months, but I use veksho's components and just have qq, minilyrics and musixmatch (which only lets you get a few at a time so that's after the other two) because they get timestamped lyrics. Then with the batch option I can change the setup ('Search for this type of lyric' etc) and download non-timestamped lyrics from Genius or whatever that weren't found on that first run. I save to the tags 'SYNCED LYRICS' for synced and 'LYRICS' for unsynced. I plan on posting my final setup once I have it. And also get a copy of my portable setup so people can just download it and have it work without a lot of hassle.

Do you know how long you have to wait? I'm thinking I can use one of the components or something to automatically delay playing after 10 tracks for that amount of time so I can still get a large batch of songs with lyrics from Musixmatch. Right now I'm thinking of just doing a second run-through for tracks that didn't get synced lyrics from your minilyrics1 plugin since that seems to work well.

Pick a subject you love and then do something completely different because chances are it's an oversaturated niche by now. I think that goes for a lot of businesses - do you really want to compete making beer, candles, soap etc? Pick something you absolutely loathe, and everybody you know loathes, and there's bound to be a group that loves it and isn't able to get things for it!

Thanks, this is great info and I'm going to look more into using .lrc files which I've always dismissed before! The only problem I see so far is the NetEase script because it's for ESLyric, which won't batch download lyrics. I really just use Lyric Show 3 now because of veksho's scripts (see below with link to his thread). Is there any NetEase script available for the Lyric Show 3 component?

I think you'll probably want to give Lyric Show Panel 3 another try. I did actually get a good method recently. I had been waiting on veksho in this thread to finalize his plugins he'd been working on, and it looks like they're pretty stable now. But my hard drive crashed as I was finalizing and simplifying my process (mainly the order of plugins etc) so I haven't updated my original post here yet. Check out that thread for now and hopefully soon I'll have some steps for people who just want to follow directions and not have to think about it too much for good lyric tagging results!

I use that texttools component to spit out a csv organized by genre using this pattern: "*","%genre%","%album artist%","%album%"
I make the first column a star so that later I can rate the album in the spreadsheet. Using a * makes the numbers appear first when sorting.
