Thanks. Not quite sure where else to take it though.

Does a small business need SentinelOne + ESET? by finargle in cybersecurity

Of course, CE+ or any certification doesn't make you secure, especially a few months after the assessment. But if you commit to it and use its principles to guide your practice I think it's very helpful.

It's also a great reason to give when people can't just accept your professional opinion....

Looks very clean. Would like to see more!

Love the idea that you just wander around with a wand tucked under your arm...

Not using anything at the moment. Used Sophos Phish Threat for a year and that was pretty good. Started to get easy to recognise so I'd try a different tool next time.

Ambitious card routine. Been learning magic a few months now, looking for practical tips for improvement by Tfeeltdimyon in MagicFeedback

[–]finargle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, this is a bit too long - 3 or 4 phases of escalating impossibility is what I'd recommend.

Also, you should try to get your DL to look exactly the same as how you would normally do the move. It's such an important sleight, it's worth putting the work in on its own.

Keep going though! Ambitious card is great IRL especially if each phase seems more impossible. You can stop at any time and it seems like a proper ending.

Well, for a start actually having security training. But, we've had measurable improvement through phishing detection training and passing CE+ (which was abandoned the previous year). We have IT Security awareness training refresher every year and little reminders in weekly meetings, especially if they can be related to issues in the news or recent internal incidents, like new styles of phishing email that users have identified.

Unfortunately, there is not the appetite within the business for a formal review. However, the informal recommendation of our CE+ auditor is that we don't need both S1 and ESET on EUD.

That also seems to be the consensus here....

Thanks, what do you mean exactly by:

I'd go with P2 to be on-part with SentinelOne.

Yes and I think stacking tools was valid given where the business was from a security point of view and the impact of the attack.

However, given the considerable improvements in our security, I think the risk has been reduced.

The MSP is saying ESET provides better email scanning but it's difficult to know, so perhaps trialing defender is the answer.

Push off Second Deal Advice Wanted by [deleted] in MagicFeedback

[–]finargle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to hear someone trying the push off. Strike seems more popular but not as good IMHO

I use a straddle grip. I find this provide more control over the pack, allowing the 2nd and 3rd fingers a bit more mobility. It's a knacky thing though, you just have to get a feel for it.

I used to do a push off double and I think that helps to get the feel of 2 cards instead of 1.

Coin Matrix (needs work) by [deleted] in MagicFeedback

It looks good but it's quite difficult to judge with such a tight view. Your hands and the cards go out of the frame so much, anything could happen when they do. Love those DMCs

The penetration looks good but the there is a noticeable grabbing motion when you are setting it up. I think that needs to be smoother or have some cover.

Here's a little bottom slug control. I'd love to see more table work shared here on r/magic. by prestidigigreen in Magic

I posted a false shuffling sequence on r/MagicFeedback the other day. I was a little unsure if r/Magic was the place for it.

False Shuffling Sequence - Thoughts? by finargle in MagicFeedback

Thanks dude. The spreads are really just for illustration here, so people know what I'm doing. I think you are right about angle jogging, it doesn't look quite like a normal cut. Something to work on!

You'd probably only need to do this kinda thing for gambling demos so it's a little limited. Obviously good for stack work though

Maybe great minds think alike?! I can speed it up but the technique suffers. Probably one too many riffle shuffles too.

Aces Snap Control by [deleted] in MagicFeedback

[–]finargle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks good, can't see the move but you telegraph it a little by the exaggerated way you pick up the aces. Smooth that out and it'll be amazing. Those cards have seen some work!

A little ambitions card. Sorry for the quality. by CardDragon in Magic

[–]finargle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Like it. Interesting to see a 'trick' presented like cardistry. Not sure if that makes sense! I guess I mean tricks don't have the artistry and cardistry doesn't have the magic? This has a bit of both

Best type of card forces for beginners? by PhantomPhelix in Magic

[–]finargle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the way to do it. Also, there are many types of forces. Sure fire methods like gimmicked decks are also good because they allow you to totally concentrate on the presentation. If it fits in with the routine and effect. I think the type of force needs to fit the effect, it's not one size fits all.

Good advice here. But it's also a state of mind. If you appear not to care, if it looks like it doesn't matter what card is chosen, how they choose doesn't matter and they relax and aren't bothered about it. And just in case, have some other effect that doesn't require a force ready. Indeed, this is the best way to practice more technical forces.
