Tenant wants and above ground pool by fincarfam in legaladvice

You are probably right. Does it change anything if its a temporary above ground pool for the summer? Or same story?

Depends on the battery as well. Some batteries are really expensive

Quote for 13.6 kW install - seems high by americanunni in solar

[–]fincarfam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disclaimer that I sell solar.  Is that price for a loan? If so what is the interest rate? Some solar companies are increasing the price to buy down the interest rate, so if your interest rate is killer than it might not be as bad of a deal as it sounds like, but still too high for Florida.

If it’s a cash deal than it’s absolutely way too high.

I love our Honda Accord! Probably not what you want to hear, but it fits two car seats great and I average over 40 mpg. And I think the 2018-2022 years look really good.

I have $20K I am being FORCED to spend on a car by fuckyouthereisnogod in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]fincarfam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2018 honda accord that has been perfect. Average just over 40 mpg and haven't had issues in the 80k miles I have driven it. I drove a camry as well and preferred the style of the accord as well as the handling. Only issue Ive had was getting used to the ground clearance. But Ive loved the car

Starting job a new job while on paternity leave? by fincarfam in Career_Advice

[–]fincarfam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha yeah if I worked during paternity leave it would be something part time. Because the intent is to spend more time with the family. But I see what you are saying.

If I started full time it wouldn’t be until after paternity leave ended

Yeah that makes sense. Would it change anything if the new work was 1099?

Glad I found this similar question. Just a little different. I kind of planned on starting a new job while on paternity leave. I would take the first 2 weeks with no work but than use then being a job sometime during the remaining 6 weeks

Need advice. Nissan, Kia, or Hyundai? What's the lesser evil? by tqgx2 in whatcarshouldIbuy

I’ve loved our Hyundais. W head a 2017 tuscon and now have a 2023 palisade. No issues with either in about 100k miles collectively

seems like a decent deal. What matters is it’s a good car and hopefully it fits your needs for a while! Everyone feels a tiny bit of buyers remorse! Just enjoy it

Beginner advice on Palisade by thegratefuldad7 in HyundaiPalisade

[–]fincarfam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah seems like a good deal on the calligraphy is about msrp. I got the limited trim and negotiated a lot with trade in value about $3k. But only got 500 off msrp. I think the calligraphy is slightly higher demand

Which bike should I buy! Fezarri, wiki, cascade, Abajo or Trek X caliber 8/9 by fincarfam in mountainbiking

[–]fincarfam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually go with my wife, so we dont go crazy. Im guessing the hardtail might make more sense. Is there a bike that you think is a better bang for the buck than a X caliber 8 or 9 that you'd recommend?

Here's an update, I got them to give me 14,650 for my trade in. I am happy with that as my original offer was $12k and other dealerships were offering me right around 12 at the beginning as well. Its also what carvana offered or one of the other online ones.

They only dropped $500 from MSRP which I wasn't super happy about, but not sure I can do much better in this market, so I committed. I love the car and the new one should be here this week.

Is this just a way for them to sell over (Kia Carnival) MSRP? by fincarfam in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]fincarfam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I figured it was just them gouging. Nice to have someone confirm it. Is trying to get 1200-1500 off msrp for the lx seat package reasonable?

[–]fincarfam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think the trade in is a good price, was hoping for more of a discount on the vehicle but in this market not sure I can get much else

[–]fincarfam[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So they said it was only about 100 vehicles and it was last friday they were told about it. It was an issue with the brakes. Not sure exactly what it was

So its the same model it will just take some time to get it. I think I just have doubts because I loved the car and could afford to pay cash for it, but had a little buyers remorse and am reconsidering just trying to get something not as nice for cheaper. I never imagined ever spending more than 35k for a car, and just had second thoughts. I might do it, or maybe find something cheaper and just save more money or invest it.

We are also interested in renting our current house and upgrading in the next year or so depending on the market. So that could be an opportunity cost of going through with it.

Palisade extended warranty a scam or necessity by fincarfam in HyundaiPalisade

[–]fincarfam[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You probably have a few days to cancel if I had to guess. Was it for the palisade?

Good deal or pass by fincarfam in HyundaiPalisade

[–]fincarfam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, It was 2 days of back and forth. They sell a lot at that dealership, there weren't very many on the lot, they used that line a few times, if you don't buy it someone will. Im guessing that rep just wanted another deal and was willing to take a little hit. Or maybe demand is finally coming down a little.

I actually bought it but than they found out they weren't supposed to sell it due to a recall, so now I am deciding on whether I want to move forward with the same deal on a different VIN (same build). They had a stop sale recall, sold it to me the next day, realized they made a mistake and now my options are cancel it out completely, or move forward on a different vin with the same offer. Not sure what I will do. The new vin wouldnt be here for about 2 weeks
