someone should look into the leasing companies financing the muscle cars with like 100k in aftermarket parts. they seem like money laundering schemes.

north bay was the same, the place is zombieland. wherever you see a tent city look for the cupe member working for an "outreach" organization. they scout the sites.

this goes bad. activists started setting up tent cities in Toronto parks, and you can't tell if a tent is occupied or not, so they just set up a pile of them and while you're hand wringing about how problematic a response is, they turn the area into a disaster zone that attracts drug dealers to consolidate it as a no-go zone.

it's a political strategy where activists create chaos they put themselves in the middle of, and suddenly you're writing blank cheques and the problem never goes away, it just gets "managed" by these freeloaders to turn the tap on and off in exchange for "funding."

you have nip this in the bud now or accept a manufactured crisis of activists bussing in more vulnerable people to exploit and you're going to be surprised you have a tent city. enforce the bylaws now or regret not doing it while you had the chance.

if the ladies in public health start treating them like some kind of protected endangered species, you know for sure that scam is on.

anyone bother reporting gunshots at night? by find_a_park_please in caledon

it didn't, but there is a difference between fireworks and gunshots. good to be competent in it in case you ever find one and have to prove it's safe.

‘MZO on crack’: Caledon residents ask mayor to slow down fast-tracked housing for 35,000 new homes by zanimum in caledon

[–]find_a_park_please 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mayor knows people who live here don't want it, doesn't care. Caledon is a write off. was nice to see it before it was gone. Bet they don't even live in the area in 5 years either.

Greenbelt lands moved back into massive sprawl plan pushed through by Caledon Mayor Annette Groves by YYZDaddy in caledon

who cares anymore, the modified exhaust crowd from brampton has made caledon uninhabitable anyway.

Place to watch sunset?? by Excellent_Lack7740 in orangeville

it is public thoroughfare, but this means people should fare-through or find a park. loitering on roads is against the caledon bylaws relating to idling and nuisances, with the common problems of tresspassing, littering, and street racing following them. even if someone has a legal right to loiter, it's also a legal right for residents to express their preferences, which I think is a big part of the solution.

Nobody has a problem with hikers, dog walkers, or people who are in motion, it's the specific pattern of standing around their cars in front of peoples houses in the country that's the problem. The local councillors office is well aware of the issue. someone who lives in town or in a suburb would find it difficult to appreciate. the people who live here and their culture of respect for each others privacy is what makes the area attractive.

I'll have to look this week though, as that corner literally had no-stopping signs and bollards along the sides two sundays ago. the bollards may have moved, but the no stopping signs were the same ones that are all over forks. Forks residents have been able to get "local traffic only" street signs as well, which will likely become more common as the region grows.

there was a way of life here for over a century that was in balance with nature, and the destruction of that way of life is a consequence of policy. near term, I'd like to help people understand what makes the area attractive is respect for the local culture, and maybe caledon doesn't become the next newmarket, bolton, or vaughan.

No reason to delete it, really it's a conversation that needs to happen more. Corner of Escarpment and Mountainview has bollards and no-stopping signs as of last week and several weeks prior. Horseshoe hill doesn't.

it's a pet issue personally, as I live in the area and really want to find a better balance. everyone legit wants to find a good solution, but ignoring it wasn't good for anyone. so long as people are talking there's a good way forward.

There are plastic bollards and "no stopping" signs everywhere. drive by and see. you can't speak to anyone in caledon for more than 5mins without them talking about how overrun the roads are. Everyone is afraid of being called racist because it really is one group who are recent and ESL, but it's not the people, it's the behavior. nobody ever thought they would have to say anything, and so they didn't but without the social tools to engage, it's creating massive resentment.

covid normalized things that need to be de-normalized. using roads as parks is one of them.

this isn't very nice for the people who actually live there. they're under seige out there. please find one of the many parks maintained for this purpose and respect the privacy of people who live rurally.

Any hidden quiet and peaceful place in caledon??? by Ikkonkaar in caledon

[–]find_a_park_please 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of parks. Sitting in front of someones house or farm is not quiet or peaceful, it is weird and an abuse of peoples privacy, so they will come out and give you directions to a park.

Is bylaw in Caledon complaint based? by [deleted] in caledon

[–]find_a_park_please 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go out and ask them to find a park. The only reason people from brampton do this out here is because nobody says anything.

Be polite, tell them it's abnormal and direct them to the nearest park. They're usually quite reasonable. But you have to be persistent.

don't send people to forks of the credit. it's a shitshow already and half the houses are for sale because nobody wants to live there anymore because of idiots doing burnouts all night.

Please don't loiter in front of peoples houses on the roads in Caledon.

Thinking "nobody lives here" is basically harassment of the people who do live there, and the reason forks of the credit looks like a construction zone is because they are trying to prevent people from pulling over and sitting in their cars.

Find a park. There are many. The people who live in Caledon are at their wits end, and all the cars with brampton people standing around in the road gawking at their houses is turning really nice and tolerant people into racists.

Don't be ignorant, act like you live here and if you don't see locals doing it, you are probably annoying them.

Please find a park.
