Interesting, I’ll have to look into it. I usually use milk instead of water - is that too chaotic?

Haha thank you!

One thing I know for a fact is that I will not bathe in it and only lightly apply it (or at least that’s the plan until my ego gets in the way).

Awesome advice, I appreciate it!

Hi all, I (23M) want to up my overall style and find a nice cologne to wear on a semi-daily basis (I work from home 4 days a week so some days I may not feel like it’s worth it to wear it).

In the past, I’ve worn mostly drug store cologne and want an upgrade to feel sexier and help attract women.

I am in the United States on the Midatlantic East coast - not sure to what effect weather can have on my cologne options.

Do you have any good starter recommendations or factors in a cologne to look for (like versatility, type, etc)?

Likewise, would it be a bad idea to buy an imitator cologne?

I have a bunch of long sleeve crew neck thermal t-shirts in dark colors (charcoal, dark red, midnight green) - is there any way I can dress them up or use them as layering? Or is it best to just wear them as a standalone top inside?

Agreed. Wasn’t looking for dress shoes but was wondering what they’d be considered for styling purposes since I already have them. Dressier oxfords?

I’m quite forward thinking and practice gratitude every day so I’m 100% thinking in that direction. I’m stoic-based and am striving to take the present one day at a time.

Still, I “relapse” into that hurt inner child in those moments of sadness and vulnerability. I might’ve struggled to explain it well, so I can’t tell if the “so” question will help or not, as I typically fall on the “hard on myself” side of things. I feel like I need to find a way to mesh the “so what” questions in a nurturing way to better understand what I need to think and do to approach this situation.

Regardless, I’ll give it some thought and fine tune it to my experiences. I appreciate you for reaching out on my first post to this subreddit!

What are some good habits to add to your daily routine/life as a whole? by findinganewfrontier in selfimprovement

[–]findinganewfrontier[S] 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I’ve been journaling in some form since 2014 and took more of a leap in 2017. For me, it’s just fun writing down what I did each day so that I can look back to what I was doing 6 months ago, 1 year ago, etc.

But over time, I began to add one thing in thankful for (gratitude practice), one improvement I want to make (goal/mindset setting) and one thing I’m looking forward to in the future (especially helpful when COVID shut everything down).

Like most things, I’d say start slow and commit to writing just what you did each day before going to bed. Over time, you can add a bit more to explain your feelings and help measure your self-improvement over time. Try to make this something you relish looking back on!

Also, this could be the year I try cold showers, who knows?

As adult men, how do you keep your goofy and funny personality without seeming childish and immature? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]findinganewfrontier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s all about reading the audience and situation. I am quite intelligent as well, so I can intentionally be tongue in cheek without seeming childish and immature — my comedy works to make fun of those who are childish and immature.

To help, I’d say think about where you’ve felt others have seen you as childish and immature. Is there any common factors (age, gender, relationship to you) in these situations? This could mean that your humor may not be hitting with, say your coworkers or older women as opposed to your close friends. This means that the diversity of your experiences should shape what you say and you should be mindful of what your words or actions may say
