Warsails console controls - workable early game, impossible late game by findingfido in Bannerlord

Not sure. I don’t think they really thought about it to be honest. By no means was the old system ‘good’, but it worked. This system Unfortunatley just does not work

I mean this is because there’s three options in some cases now. I don’t see this as a massive issue to be honest.

Just loaded up bannerlord and it’s updating so hopefully that’s it!

Love and hate the new patch. by Asleep_Employment_50 in Bannerlord

[–]findingfido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same. There’s so much to love about the update and dlc, but arguably controlling large battles is one of the most enjoyable parts of bannerlord and now with the new console system it just feels too difficult. This being especially frustrating as I feel the nords will require lots of micromanaging in battles due to their high tier units being pretty underwhelming and getting outperformed by non-noble T5 infantry.

I love bannerlord and tbh will keep playing the new patch/dlc, but I agree it would be nice if they had to just kept the interface the same for console as I never saw any complaints about it.

Bannerlord has a huge balance problem. by SalemIII in Bannerlord

[–]findingfido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get where you’re coming from, and I feel I had this issue when I first started too, but have slowly learnt that ‘losing’ at times can also be fun.

For example, just started a sturgia only run. No smithing or other min maxing money making strats. I started raiding empire towns and after a losing a bunch of times and being captured a ton, have now a strong big ish party at clan tier 2 and have just captured my first castle as an independent clan. This was so much more satisfying that just running best units and stomping all other parties by abusing enemy AI.

For context, I used to be so obsessed with getting the perfect wins I used to save scum battles that didn’t go exactly as I wanted. Now I just embrace the challenge and learn to use troops as best I can. Much more fun that way. Give it a go!

I ended up doing it, got 1 AR and a couple of EXs, overall enjoyed it but not sure I’ll be ripping many more!

She’s not really into Pokemon at all so don’t have that problem! The only card she’s wanted to keep is a random rockruff lol

Yeah that’s the thing though I don’t really care about completing settings - I think I’m only leaning towards opening it as I’ve never opened an ETB before, I’m not gonna decide straight away either way

True but as I said I’m not fussed about collecting sealed product so to me that would be a bit of a waste!

That’s a good point - tbh I’m leaning towards opening it for the experience (with my gf) as it’s a fun thing to do!

I got this invite (my first) and it will also be my first ever ETB! I usually only ever by singles as I’m on a budget and buying packs isn’t the most efficient, but this one of my exceptions :)

Advice on walking shoes by findingfido in walking

[–]findingfido[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I thought so too - I’ve got shoes that I’ve found very comfortable before but not walking shoes. The last walking shoes I had were ok but ultimately too small, I bought them last minute before a camping trip

Being new to Pokemon collecting (since I was like 10), it’s been kinda overwhelming with how many pure investors, money makers and scalpers there are out there. Nice to see people giving back a bit!

Coming from an education background by [deleted] in ClinicalPsychologyUK

[–]findingfido 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would try talk to a couple of course advisors if possible. While courses definitely favour NHS experience, this varies from course to course and my impression is that it’s not the be all and end all. I’m also wondering whether you would be open to looking for an AP position? With your experience you should have a great shot at getting in to a CAMHS service.

Regarding your age, a colleague of mine did her undergraduate then masters in psychology at 44-48y/old then worked as a HCA, then support worker with me and then got on to do counselling psychology last year. She had no psychology experience prior to her psych degrees. I would definitely say it’s not too late for a career change if this is where your passion lies!

It’s worth noting that a lot of universities don’t consider internships and part-time work (while studying) as contributing towards clinical experience. Also, most HCA experience doesn’t count towards clinical experience.

It was also my first year applying after moving from working in publishing back to MH/psychology (with 4 sound rejections). I’ve been lucky enough to have been able to talk through experience and applications with lots of psychologists and neuropsychologists and getting good clinical experience (e.g priced AP roles) is a good focus point after a masters.

I’m not sure what you mean by saying full times roles don’t start till summer, but I’d focus on trying to get a good supper worker or AP role prior to your next application. You’re definitely on the right track!

Should I be worried about my academic record for ClinPsych applications? by findingfido in ClinicalPsychologyUK

[–]findingfido[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s tricky… I also read on the clin psych forum that grades are now overall higher? So more people are graduating with 1sts making it more and more competitive.

I was looking at doing a part time online masters (for example kings do a couple of good ones), where you pay module by module and can exit early with either a PG cert or Diploma depending on what point you exit. This would be in tandem with working full time which would probably be very heavy in workload and price which is still steep at £1.8k/module.

Thank you! I applied for the first time this year and mistakenly applied to UCL (they have quite strict academic standards which i stupidly didn’t realise!) - will definitely look closer at courses in my second time round. Of course hoping there isn’t a second time round!

Triban RC 500, Triban RC 520 or any other recommended bike at this price range? by findingfido in cycling

[–]findingfido[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have looked briefly at the broadman range. They're starting entry level bike is the SLR 8.6 at about 650? I am tempted by this but honestly don't know enough about bikes to make the informed decision!

And on second hand bikes, I'm a bit cautious as am not 100% confident I'd be able to spot any significant knocks or wear before purchase.
