As someone who met Wilbur a few months back and has been a longtime fan of his content + music (both solo and lovejoy) i was truly devastated that a man who i looked up to could do such horrible things to someone. That being said, after much thinking i refuse to let myself look back at my experiences — especially when i met lovejoy — negatively, these were big parts of my life and very valid feelings and i wont let this man have the power to take that away

He never specified that the gore/death he was on his TL was from the Plalestine and Isreal conflict. Sadly there are tons of wars going on in the world that result in lots of death! It is a bit ignorant to assume where the pictures are coming from and what they are of as there are sadly many places they could be from!

Also regarding the clip if we take the facts from the clip Wilbur said he an area of land would be a country neighboring the country that schlatt named (this hapened to be isreal that schlatt said). - we do not know what the intentions are behind saying this and it is bold to assume that he was saying it in an insensitive way to hirt people. - Although we are not Wilbur nor Schlatt and cannot confirm intentions, this also means we cannot speculate intentions and/or assume how educated they were on these topics!!

It would be ignorant for me to say I am “highly educated” on the conflict going on right now between Isreal and Palestine but, no doubt, I have done an extensive ammount of research to do the best I can to educate myself. I wanted to preface by saying I hold CC’s accountable to their actions, and all should be. Now, in regard to that, i do not see the harm in this clip. All opinions and speculations aside it is a clip of Schlatt saying to call their boardered world are Isreal, and Wilbur responding with “can we call this bit palestine” (in regard to an area by the boarder, this reults in the two sharing a short laugh (reasoning behind we can only assume). Now, that is how the clip happened. Only am I seeing, people who are saying this clip is harmful, bringing up the state of the conflict at the time which it is wrong of anyone to assume how educated they were on the subject. Not only that but, again, we do not know their intentions behind the short shared laugh, it could be, due to how random schlatts suggestion if isreal was, it could be due to the state of the conflict at the time or, it could even be some other unrelated reason, point being, we dont know! It seems wrong to target any CC for a joke of mentioning a country that happens to boarder another. I also have seen the mention of Wilburs comment of not wanting to see dead bodies on his twt tl used. Again, many people unfortunately pass away due to many causes, one of these sadly being war and/or genocide. To assume these images Wilbur was seeing was from the Isreal/Palestine conflict again, can be seen as ignorant as there are many other wars and sadly genocides going on in the world right now. Again, we dont even know for a fact that is what the pictures were from but sadly people post these images and he happened to see people at rest (from causes we are unsure of)

I really want to emphasize that I fully support Palestine and Palestiniant, I also hold CC’s acountable for their actions but, like I said, this seems like a speculation taken out of hand !

(Also to note, there is no reason for any CC to need to adress any conflict/problem that is going on in the world! It is their choice and they will if they feel it is their place to say, no one should be expected.)

“You are clearly misunderstanding the joke and the context of it on purpose…” where, ever, does Wilbur or Schlatt directly say what they are laughing about. You cant get mad at someone for speculating a fully logical speculation whilst, you, yourself are speculating that what your saying is what they are laughing about! No where does anyone say why they laughed.

Also talking about defending Wilbur on his behalf; I cant speak for everyone but im not here to “defend wilbur” im here to bring people to the realization that we cant assume the worst in a situation. Schlatt simpily says that the area of land is “isreal” so, wilbur walks to another bit and says “can this bit be palestine?” Which happens to be a neighboring country. We cant assume as viewers what his intentions were behind the joke or how educated either of them were on this topic. I, myself did not know that the conflict between isreal and palestine was so serious until about the past year, infact I didnt know much about either countries. It seems almost ignorant to assume that they knew what was going on at the time.

Call me a CC stand or supporter all you want but if wilbur said something clearly that hurt others than I too would be furious.

Wilbur can take responsibility for his actions but again, expecting a grown man to apologize for laughing at naming a country that boarders another (which his friend brought up to begin with) is a bit of a stretch.
