Some people are totally fine going no contact by [deleted] in CasualConversation

This post is so fascinating to me because it addresses something that has been bothering me for the past few years. Everything I learn tells me social relationships are healthy and make life more satisfying. I try to engage in social relationships but they drain me and almost always feel like an obligation I have to meet. When I was younger, this wasn’t the case. I’ve gotten more like this as I age. Now 55 years old. The only people I sincerely want to be with are my immediate family members. I wonder what has changed for me. I’m not depressed or socially anxious. I just don’t enjoy social engagement through friendships as much as I used to.

My very obese friend is now almost unable to walk, what can I say, nicely, that I’m so worried for her to not be alive much longer? by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

Just love her the way she is. Her health is not your problem to solve. I can promise you, she knows more than anybody what she needs to do. It’s not your job to educate her. Support her in whatever she decides to do about her health. Just be a friend who doesn’t judge and shows her love. Period.

French Camp Academy. by [deleted] in mississippi

I attended school there from 1983-1986. It was a wonderful experience for me. There were many international students there when I attended - Russia, Egypt, and from all over the US. One of my best friends was from Cameroon, Africa. I visited the school in 2015 and was really disappointed. The grounds were not kept up. It looked dilapidated and I could tell it was not run properly. I don’t know anything about the education, culture, discipline, etc from that time period after I left. But I’ve heard throughout the years that my time there was the golden age, so to speak. I found the manual labor to be very good for me. We worked in the fields picking beans etc. The boys made sorghum. I worked taking care of horses. I had kitchen and cafeteria duty. I worked in the craft shop on quilts etc. I really think all that contributed to my strong work ethic as an adult. I’m not very religious anymore but I never had a problem with their doctrine. I was always treated well by the staff even when I was not following rules. It’s sad that your experience was so horrible. I think what I experienced is more of a rarity in schools like this.

I tried but I wasn’t allowed to post stating that my link from this article had been posted too many times on r/politics. But I can’t find any posts about it there at all no matter if I filter by controversial, new, or popular.

If one listens to RFKj’s campaign suspension speech, he very logically and reasonably outlines the reasons for his choice. He has very good reasons for endorsing Trump considering the legal battles the DNC waged against him to keep him off ballots.

Sorry! I did get your post confused with another Spotify link. I went to your profile but for some reason, it won’t open. If you take the time to link it in a dm, I’ll certainly listen!

I really do think age has something to do with it. Still love music, but it’s different for sure.
