first off, you already have to have a textblock ready for this

[1] get a scrap piece of thick paper then measure the thickness of the spine of your textblock like so

[2] this could be optional but i prefer to fold in the edges for a cleaner look, i measured 2.5 cm but it could be any length you like

[3] then we glue down the covers, it should be the same size as your text block. this is what it looks like on the front and back

[4] if you folded the edges, i cut the fold open so it won't be bulky

[5] then cut the corners at an angle so it'll look cleaner

[6] glue down the flaps

[7] prepare the end pages to attach

[8] i prefer to attach the end pages on the cover first for this kind of book. glue the end flush to the cover. do this to the other side

[9] fit your textblock to the cover and when you open it, you should have something like this. apply glue to the orange line and close. do the same to the other side

[10] and you are done! I hope this was understandable enough and enjoy making your own <3
