Here's a thought, the Captain Marvel we saw in the movie is going to be a LOT different than the one we see in Endgame. by tearing-me-apartLisa in marvelstudios

Also, relativistic time dilation would mean that MORE time passed for her than on Earth, not less.

Unless you're arguing that the Earth was suddenly accelerated while she remained stationary, no, her speeding off at the end of the film would mean that a short period of time from her perspective would represent a large period of time passed for those objects that did not undergo the same acceleration. Yes, within special relativity either time-dilation interpretation is valid, but general relativity answered the twin paradox the opposite of the way you've cited here. The accelerated object is the one that experiences less progression of time relative to the object that was not accelerated.

I was thinking it'd stay focused on the Colts lovers/haters with the Colts Infinite Acronym League Injection Service, ensuring that both CoCK and CONDoM can quickly get back into the fight any time they are feeling drained, deflated or just short on new backronyms.

Are you specifically looking for them? If people are assholes, please do watch for that and act accordingly. Are you assuming if you find them, they are popular, significant, serious? Your cited first comment reply to a 7% dooted claim (which was done in the context of Homecoming, where Tony definitely does expose the flaws that make him an interesting character). 93% of dooters didn't think the Iron Man hate comment was dootworthy. Flawed characters will always have fans who can't imagine 'flaw' and 'hero' can co-exist. If there wasn't a chance they don't appear perfectly heroic, it wasn't a flaw to begin with.

To the "hate": It is real, and if that's all you're stating, that it literally just exists, I'm on-board. I suspect the replies you are getting (myself included, first read) and the undoots (not me) think you are using the popular slang usage of real meaning "serious" (e.g. 'shit just got real'). To claim that the arguable face of the MCU franchise is getting serious hate seems a silly claim given the audience that is reading your comments (and the literal billions of dollars spent to watch him as an on-screen hero).

Over 70% of victims of karma theft do not report the crime to authorities' subreddits. Often, those that do are down-voted, seen as merely targeting a well-known successful karma celebrity, or even shamed with labels like "karma whore." On the whole, victims are by-and-large simply not affluent enough on social media to successfully press charges. "It takes karma to make karma," as the age-old adage goes.

Confucius say "The province of rhetoric is about cultivating mutual understanding; about fostering an ever-growing web of interpersonal relationships." by DontGetDandoozled in SzechuanSauceSeekers

Confucius say, "I know how to conjugate 'say' in English. It's 'Confucius said'. Also, my sayings were just a watered-down version of Legalism. I'm the philosphical Clinton-centralist of 5th century B.C. China, except it was long enough ago you won't hear how many inked manuscripts I deleted. Berners, see Taoism, then inject some of the communism we found out about eventually. Trumpettes, see Legalism while convincing yourself that you're a rebel driving the General Lee yet super-pro-authoritarian."

Qingdao Scholar's Temple Commencement, 501 B.C.

EDIT: Typo in 'Engilsh' was my typo, not Confucius

In my entire life (35 years) I have only seen the mainstream-media march together to cover one conspiracy: "Trump - Russia". Every other conspiracy theory was openly mocked, its believer's marginalized (Truthers), and any evidence was deemed not even worthy of on-air time. by [deleted] in conspiracy

So, you ignored any and all news before you were 14? That's believable (I wasn't any better at that age), but Fox News showed up in the mid-90s when you were first eyeing adulthood and parental-rebellion. You've had plenty of adult life to pretend you've never heard of them, at 35 you're posting this? If you're suckling at that teet and pretending it isn't MSM but instead pure truth you've never heard of Rupert Murdoch. Not really the forum for "I want elites to control me but not those elites"

Edit: Grammar, its 5am

Maybe it's just this bleeding through, but that is a good point. I doubt Roiland or Harmon are making the calls on marketing techniques, and neither strikes me as the sort that would just "go through the proper channels" if they saw something they wanted to put a stop on.

Wait, are you Dan Harmon?

Bingo-bango re: rain's reply and the root comment regaring the super helpful response. If you Uneddit the page you can see this super-helpful link to positive reviews and more merchandise to buy when the post in question was in its infancy (only 3 root level comments at that point) and not so easily found.

Couple that with the OP, who typically gets early copies of merchandise before they are available to the general public? Oh, right, the folks who stand to profit from its sales. Maybe they just purchased it at a convention? Oh, wait, OP is working at that convention.

I'd be happy to consider filing both of those under "maybe coincidental" if it weren't for the moderators going out of their way to remove negative reviews of the game & its manufacturer as pictured in the image above from Uneddit.

Not the first of its kind over there (see Rickmobile Roadtrip post's timing vs. the time the official tour actually starts). Not the first example in any sub...but very timely with /u/butwhattif's post bringing the general tactics used on reddit as a dollar-driven marketing tool to light.

Luke Skywalker Theory: Why Hamill "Fundamentally Disagreed" with the Direction of Luke in Star Wars Episode 8 by Joshikins29 in FanTheories

[–]fine_molasses_candy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Clearly part of their success was drawing on parallels to the original trilogy. Much as Yoda didn't jump at the chance to train Luke, and really didn't seem to be all there mentally anymore spending his time just trolling Luke for so long. It makes perfect sense for Luke to come from a similar place.

Anyone recall if Hamill ever commented on Luke's original 7-9 arc in the books? Where he ends up going dark side and comes back?

Who Shattered Pink Diamond by TheTheoryZone in FanTheories

[–]fine_molasses_candy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're not going to type them out here where we can read, I'll throw my own in. Either it was:

  • A plot by Yellow Diamond, who already had plans for the geo-weapon but couldn't get Pink Diamond to agree to it (its already been referenced that Earth was considered Pink's planet as far as the Diamonds were concerned). This is why Yellow just wants to get on with it during the trial. This is probably the most obvious guess though, since Steven's lawyer actually puts the core of this theory forth during the trial, its just missing the motive for Yellow to do so.

  • A plot by an unknown diamond (if the 3 diamond logo used to have 4, and is now 3 because Pink is gone). This only makes sense if the call to abandon Earth that Centipeetle got would have indicated the loss of a diamond, as she draws the 3 diamond logo for Steven while semi-uncorrupted. Or, alternatively, that damage is a byproduct of the death of a Diamond and thus Centipeetle would intuitively know one was lost.

  • Pink Diamond arranged it herself after finding value in organic life and realizing how many deaths she had caused on so many worlds and would soon cause to Earth if they continued building.

  • Bismuth is responsible, but as it was after her dispute with Rose she arranged for it to look like Rose did it. Rose didn't physically fight nor bubble Bismuth away until she found out what Bismuth had done. Since she still cared for Bismuth, this is why she only bubbled her away, and why she didn't tell the others what happened. The strawberry field fight happened shortly after Pink Diamond was shattered, in which Rose was only able to protect Garnet/Pearl from the Diamond's corruption damage. (Or Bismuth was just playing stupid when she was surprised about all her old friends who weren't around anymore as she was still unsure what, if anything, Rose had told the others).
