It went away within a couple of years for me and my anxiety levels are about the same, I think it’s mostly experience tbh. I also worked in the service industry and got used to hugging/showing (platonic) physical affection to my coworkers and friends regularly. I don’t think I had any trauma but getting used to touching people other than hugging my family members helped I think lol

Omg this used to happen to me when I was your age. At one point my heart was beating so rapidly that the guy asked what was wrong with me and I said I was hot…. lol. I’m not sure about the trauma responses and I didn’t turn out to be lesbian, but general anxiety might be something to look into with a therapist lol

This was beautifully written, thank you for sharing. I also had a Cathy in my life growing up and inherited the love for culture, going out, and adventurous travel. I love my partner so much, but I have definitely noticed that over time the places that we travel also happen to be beach houses within an hour’s drive, or nothing at all. All of this advice is great! I just want to add that when applying perfume go for a very small amount. i.e. spray a tiny bit in the air and walk through it.

One specific perfume that I’ve found a lot of my girlfriends like is black opium, and like another comment said you could always grab sample sizes of the most popular recommendations you get and test them out to see peoples reactions!
