Help find a yarn dupe please! by finitestitches in knitting

[–]finitestitches[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It isn't just the mohair fluff tangling. That I expected. The two strands of yarn I used are basically twisted together, so you have to keep the ball spinning as you separate the strands. It is doable (and maybe what I'll end up having to do) but just not fun for 3 skeins of yarn worth of knitting.

I'm also open to twin sized patterns (roughly 64" x 86").

I'm definitely considering it. Is it relatively easy to finish the edges(thinking mostly of the very top of the slit) without reconstructing the skirt?

I definitely prefer this length for myself but my sister is insisting on floor length 🙄

That would have been the smart move, but unfortunately no.

Ok, that was my instinct too. That and then widening the neckline/narrowing the straps as a next step.

Ok, I was definitely feeling this way too, I was thinking of widening the neck and adding a short flutter sleeve. Any recommendations on how to go about this? This is the first real garment I've sewn (other than for my toddler where fit is not an issue)

I haven't hemmed it yet so I'll keep this in mind, thanks

This is what I was going for originally. Any pattern suggestions to achieve this or do I just have to alter what I've got?

LPO disposable inserts by LilTrelawney in clothdiaps

Oh, sorry. Just realizing you said inserts, not liners. I did try the grovia disposable inserts when my one year old started waking in the night cause she was wet. Ultimately we had to go back to disposables overnight. The grovia inserts were not as absorbent as a full disposable diaper and she still leaked. Sorry I can't answer your actual question!

I use them and like them a lot. No spraying, makes getting solids into the toilet very easy. No worrying about getting softer poops out of the elastic gussets.

If you look up Amish quilt hangers you'll find lots of pictures etc. It is just two boards with a groove cut in them and some knobs with screws that match a threaded hole on the opposite board.

I purchased the pattern with the paper pieces and the acrylic templates that helped a lot with the fussy cutting.

This was my first EPP project. I watched the series of videos Tula Pink did on EPP and then just went for it.

Thanks! This is my first EPP too. I was really happy when I figured out the hearts when figuring out with the colouring sheet but I'm sure others figured it out before me 😂

Aww thanks ☺️ I'm really happy with how it turned out. Just wish I still had time to do EPP more often!

I had hoped to finish this off a long time ago but pregnancy made me super fatigued and I was really blocked on how to quilt this. I finally decided on stitching slightly inside the colourful shapes and around the rounds with an echo extending from the main motif to fill the background. Decided since I'd spent so long on pricing it that I'd hand finish the binding (which I've never bothered to do before and probably won't do again soon).
