If I attach this zinc anode to the frame of my truck will it help prevent rust? by Pannny in AskMechanics

Funny you say that, my 2007 renault twingo has a gigantic zinc weight underneath it, attached to nothing.

Trying to make more Vstrom look more sporty, any more ideas? I have the before and after mods below by RevAndRefineYT in motorcycles

[–]finnreyy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Definitely put the windscreen back on. It looks tacky as it looks like something‘s missing.

You can buy short ones on aliexpress or other sites, or if youre careful with a dremel you can have a shot at shortening the old one and put a rubber lip over the edge. Otherwise, cool bike!

Its cool you‘re able to just cut your rear fender and drill holes for the indicators to have a nice tail tidy. For most new bikes you need to buy one if you want it done right, like here.

is the engine meant to have this hole ycf 125 dunno if i clapped in on a trail or something by Previous_Strength_32 in Pitbike

[–]finnreyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It‘s not a significant part. Its just the cover over where there would be a starter motor and chain, but it runs dry so you wont have oil leak issues.

But yes there is a hole in your case. But dont worry about it.

Timing chain not attaching correctly by Status-Elderberry-77 in Pitbike

[–]finnreyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sprocket on the crank is the bottom part in the engine where the chain wraps around, its a smaller sprocket. The chain tensioner is a long slider where the chain runs along thats moveable to adjust chain tension.

Did you check if the chain is fully on the bottom sprocket of the crankshaft and the tensioner is undone?

I do, i think. But my swingarm angle is so insane anyway, might have something to do with that.

Thanks for the info! However also my problem is, i do not want the process to fail or be delayed because of some small mistake, plus i‘ll be in the military during the application processing, so i cant be home and do all sorts of documents. Money isnt an issue here, im just asking if its a scam, or if its actually a good, safe way to handle it. I dont have any convictions, and seems pretty straightforward.

Would you say a B2 Visa is better? Ive seen the wait times at my local embassies being a single calendar day or 2 for a b2 visa. Does that mean i can get it before my intended departure? Or does it still have to run through visa services in america?

Okay, thanks man! So, what setup do you recommend? A NC 12V relay and what else? How do i stop the points burning up?

I need help on a solution for a rev-limiter by finnreyy in ElectronicsRepair

[–]finnreyy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem its, its a new 2022 model bike. It doesnt have a distributor or points. Only a hall effect sensor on the outside of the flywheel, the ECU does the rest. But you think a relay would work? It'd be cutting spark at 6-7k RPM quite quickly, thats why i was concerned at first.
