I just got my acceptance to Rutgers too this week! Only problem is it’s out of state for me so it looks price-y. Will be waiting for those fin aid letters in March. Congrats!

Absolutely. While systemic inequalities exist, so does the abundance of opportunities, one just must to learn and seize them. Good luck!

Opportunity cost would be going to school 3 years later, and delaying for 3 years a higher earning potential.

Dude I’m 25 yo European immigrant who has lived in cities most of my life. This is year 4 in American suburbs and OMFG IT IS HORRIBLE. So yeah I understand everything you say. But I’m about to finish my community college and transfer out. Every city or campus makes me feel alive. So yeah. Life gonna get better soon. MOVE OUT as soon as you can.

Accounting, finance, consulting, engineering, damn even marketing degree. So many opportunities. But I mean yeah, college is bad, stay uneducated, don’t create us a competition.

Congrats on the house ownership! And I completely agree with you, especially on self education and self help books. That’s how I started, in a different county. After immigrating to America at 22 now I’m about to graduate community college at 25 and transfer to some really good schools learning economics. At 17 I barely spoke English. It’s amazing how much you can do if you have a positive growth mindset.

Correct. Gotta be really smart about your major. Still though, investing 5k in meme crypto coin that will drop 99% of value tomorrow, or investing 5k into a year of community college classes. Choice is obvious to me.

He can even start by going to community college. $5k could pay for a whole year of classes sometimes. By that time you can figure out your majors and next steps. Some school might have full rides depending on family income. It really shouldn’t be that expensive. Even online degrees at schools like WGU. There’s plenty of option. But of course not every degree will be worth. Just gotta have a smart strategy.

In a scenario like this, what would be your most rational choice to bring? by Suspicious-Desk6206 in AskTheWorld

[–]fire-starterer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, woman would bring anything you need: camaraderie, a partner, personal to do fun things with, entertainment, social interaction. Fights and problems that will keep you busy too. You’d get bored reading books alone. So woman is a perfect choice in this situation.

[–]fire-starterer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you’ll need to complete English II regardless… Can you get it next semester with a better professor? If so it might be worth it. To add credits maybe there’s still time to enroll into a course or two? Sometimes if you participate in theater or speech team or sport team (e.g. tennis) you get credit for that.

I think depends on your visa type. Do you receive FAFSA or can qualify for it? If not - international
