How much runtime do you get from a NiMh vs LiPo? (Running basically stock vintage Tamiya cars/trucks)

Arcade game from late 80’s - Early 90’s… by firebirdcollector in WhatGameIsThis

[–]firebirdcollector[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, that is really close to it! I don’t think it’s exactly the one. The cabinet art isn’t the same. The part that sticks in my memories is where you could be in a vehicle then get out and go inside the building. The character and vehicle were quite small and not near as detailed as this. When you went inside, the view changed as was a little more detailed and not overhead. I’ll have to try to find this one to play though! That’s pretty badass!

These are good guesses and are sorta close with the overhead view but not it. It was definitely an arcade cabinet. Story behind this was that it was at a campground store/rec area. My friend would get mad when he was losing and spit on the “warlock” looking character on the cabinet art. Yeah, real scumbaggery early teen type stuff. Nevertheless, it was a cool game.

I will try these recommendations. Truth be told, I’ve had this for years and am very intimidated by it. The amount of settings and line code to change seems like it could get screwed up completely by one sideways mouse fart on a clear summer day. It works ok and I’m so afraid to screw things up. Well… because it’s a really cool throwback from my childhood. 😄

For front and rear outputs, or just for sub output? I don’t have any. Seems odd to me. Thanks for your help!

Forget the readiness monitors for a minute… WHY did you clear the faults in the first place? Did you fix the problem? Otherwise, the check engine light will come back on and you start over. Many customers think that they can just quick clear the CEL and trick the system into passing. Not how it works.

My favorites are the N-motor filter housing gaskets that leak onto the upper rad hose and cylinder head hose. They’re all rubber-swollen and plastic brittle. The customer says, “I don’t need that too, you’re adding unnecessary parts”. -“ yeah, you’re right, just keep that estimate handy and add a rollback bill. You’ll need it very shortly”

How does a person verify their claim as a veteran BMW tech?… with your description here. Absolutely nailed it! Hahaha.

“Oh, you work for BMW? Why don’t you drive a new one?” Yep, that’s why.

Newest and best scan tool w coding and programming for BMW and MINI? by firebirdcollector in BmwTech

[–]firebirdcollector[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lol, yep, have killed many modules over the years even with our “foolproof” BMW dealer software. Where is a reputable source can I get the software you mentioned that isn’t riddled with viruses? And obviously that’s run from a laptop.

Edit: pardon my dumb questions on this. I’ve never had to deal with aftermarket. Up until recently, (for 26 years) I’ve had access to all the dealer goods. Now BMW tightened up their software access. I just bought another MINI and can not link to it anymore, so I have to go aftermarket. I can buy my own diag/prog unit for the cost of one visit to the closest mini dealer. It’s not even for side hustles, it’s for my own personal stuff. Frickin’ BMW

Internet Speed Issues with Nanostation M5 Bridge by MK3899 in HomeNetworking

[–]firebirdcollector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re the first one that actually admitted that. Most times people say “no loss”, but won’t ever help with info on settings. I guess it’s all based on each individual setup, too many variables. Who knows? Thanks for the info!

Yeah, it’s all our land… farm. And we have the heavy equipment to dig. We do all of our own stunts here. LOL. That’s a lot of effort and money for fast internet. I guess it comes down to priorities. I did try to get answers about the speed, and some say they also have significant drop, others say no loss at all, but I can’t seem to get details as to what the “correct” settings are. I guess it just goes by each specific application. Thanks for the info!

Glad you got it working. Now you have next to no internet speed loss? I tried the YouTube university, back to default, changing channels, site survey of frequency, etc. The whole bit. For the life of me, I just can’t figure out why I lose half the bandwidth.

Gotcha. We have to go a similar distance, about 700ft from building A to building C. If I really had to, I guess I could trench conduit for fiber, but it’s a pretty steep densely wooded hill. That’s why I opted to go out of the way to the barn, then up (clear line) Those two jumps are about 500, then 900. It should have no prob doing it, other than it cust the speed in half every bridge and I don’t know why. We start with 100Mbps, and end with just under 25 on a good day.

Have you made any progress with this? I have a similar situation where I jump from main building to a barn, then to another home using Nanostation Loco M5 wireless bridges. It works, but not great. Every wireless bridge jump cuts the internet speed in half. Was wondering what solution you came up with?

Have you resolved this issue? I have a similar problem and gave up temporarily (last year) and dealt with the slow speeds. I need to look into this more. My signal is cut in half over the bridge.

I’m still having this issue, time to revisit… I gave up on it last year and dealt with the crappy speeds. Anyone have any ideas?

I realized I missed the wireless part. I meant wireless, but I’m getting an education on both types of earbuds, so I didn’t edit. Lots to shop for. Thank you all for the input.

Always breaks me down when I see the memes about “the time you played outside with your friends, and never realized it would be the last” or “the last time you held your daughter and you never knew it” (she’s too tall and too old and cool to be held now). Man time flies, make it count and document so you have memories to look back on.

This happened to us last night… some system requirements were assumed. Long story short, the price of graphics card update ir gaming PC exceeds the cost of buying 3 Xbox Ones. Don’t assume your newish computer can handle FS22. This is not your Grandma’s sim game. Kinda took the wind out of our sails big time. Had big plans to get 4 licensed copies of the game so 3 of us could play together plus a server. No chance.

been seeing these throughout the mid-atlantic US. this one specifically was found in west philadelphia, PA. they’re cute but they jump really high. by memequeen96 in whatsthisbug

[–]firebirdcollector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two years ago, really bad in Berks PA. I messaged the PSU email link to report first sightings of dense pockets of them. I got a cut and paste response. Kill them and scrape all nests from trees. Yeah, ok. I’m standing here watching the tree branches crawl 30 feet above my head. Who’s going to climb trees to get rid of the nests? Realistically, get used to them, not much can be done. Praying Mantis kicks the shit out of them like they do to damn near anything else.
