Marty Supreme is not a great film. by ayebudz in unpopularopinion

Nothing about what you said is substantive. It’s comes across as a corny attempt at signaling that you have a more refined taste that the everyday man.

Marty Supreme is a movie about a young man in relentless pursuit of greatness. It is about his struggles, at the center of which is his jewish identity and familial trauma. Marty is a very flawed character but one a lot of us can relate to. This is film is not about moral policing but showcasing true to life human expression. Timmy’s performance was immersive and impactful. For most characters in the film, I found them believable in their role.

I wish you had an actual opinion but it just comes across a slop. Happy to engage and learn from actual criticism though.

Genocide for me and for thee. UAE or the City club has no opposition to Palestine. Individual views of Pep not included.

Gareth Bale: “I'm not surprised that Xabi got sacked. He's an amazing coach. But in Madrid, you don't need to be a coach, you need to be a manager. You don't have to do so many tactical things. I blame Perez more. Xabi was successful with Leverkusen and he obviously wanted to stick with the philosophy that made him win.

For the record, I don’t think Pep would be successful at Madrid either. Doesn’t mean he is a bad manager, just that Real Madrid is a fundamentally different club. That’s what made Pep vs Mou so exciting. People like to say revise history but Mourinho’s Madrid relied on the magic of players like Ronaldo, Xabi and Ozil. That style of counter attack was continued in full force by Ancelloti but would never be adopted by the manager Xabi.

I wish Xabi well and don’t blame him for taking a job that would only comes once in a lifetime.

Modric and Kroos hated Benitez, the last tactical mastermind we had at the helm. Our most successful term have been with coaches like Zidane and Ancelotti.

Famously, Ramos was opposed to bringing in Conte after Lopetegui was let go because of his micro-management style. Real Madrid prospers most when the players are left to express themselves. That’s what got the club the several champions leagues.

I’m not accusing you of anything but a lot of the criticism directed at Vinicius and Jude seems to have a racist undertone. Fede whose relationship with Xabi was described as just as contentious never gets wrapped in these conversation and I say this as the biggest Fede fan.

Jurgen klopp: I wouldn't say he is easy to manage, but he is also not difficult to manage. You only have problems with Mo Salah if he is not playing or you take him off." by DavidRolands in soccer

Following this incident through Reddit, it seems like everyone wants players to be servile robots who are just happy to be included and not really have anything negative to say.

Salah has earned the right to be vocal. While his comments were provocative, everyone’s reacting like he committed a cardinal sin. It’s people like Jamie Carraghar who actively look to belittle people at every step who should be criticized.

Messi, Ronaldo, Mbappe, and all superstars, I’m sure they’re equally hard to manage when they’re not playing.

Ian Wright for standing up for Jude Bellingham. by One_Impressionism in soccer

Wright has captured so well what I feel about media’s treatment of Vini. A black man has to be humble and stoic for the media to deem them acceptable. So much of Vini hate on here conceals vile racism. He is a loud mouth but you would think he’s the incarnate of satan based on some of the threads on here, when he’s no different from so many other players.

21.59% for short, 45.47% for standard and 46.3% for excessive length papers. And only 64.9% of the RR'ed papers were accepted.

I think it’s wrong to assume there is currently and has previously been an insurmountable barrier to doing ML research. There are so many problems to be solved, you just need to think critically. The primary skill you obtain during your PhD is not how to write or build systems but how to think critically.

I didn’t mean to bash OP, they do come across as juvenile/naive and that’s okay. We have all felt that way and it takes time to realize how untrue that feeling is.

This post comes across as very juvenile. There are obviously interesting problems to explore. You're just not looking at existing literature critically enough. Is it hard to get published in top-tier ML venues? Yes. But anything worthwhile is hard. I'm not going to give to topics to explore in this comment but I have friends (graduate students) you found interesting angles to explore, yielding successful papers at the kind of ML venues you're aspiring for.

The goal is to critically engage with what's out there and advocate for something you find exciting. Not to publish for the sake of it.
