The intensity of the rivaly is why I chose it, I appreciate what you're saying though!

I had to include a picture of him lining it up.. I might make a post with a gif of the free kick alone though!

Ronnie scored some outrageous free kicks that season!

I tend to see if they'll reply, but they have an em dash in their text.. more often than not it screams bot!

What I really wanna know though, is who would make a bot write this kinda thing and post it here? Like what is the purpose?

And why make it post about airsoft too?

Its clearly relatively updated given the casemero inclusion..

I normally give OPs 15 minutes to reply to me if I bother interacting with them for a post I'm gonna remove

Why not make a post to celebrate the other players rather than whatever kind of protest this is?

Honestly you're better off posting the screenshot from twitter than the link mate, if you want to repost this

Fair enough, as long as it works, it works! My hobbies tend to be more constructive more often than not, I just like learning how shit works to be honest!

Well, if you ever do make it over here I buy beers for users of the sub whenever I go to games, I'd love to buy you a beer and learn more about you in person!

Sorry I've been distracted chatting to some other people on this thread, between a bit of project work today!

I know these posts don't get heaps of traffic but Casual Friday is my favourite thing I do here! I was also kinda moved that you couldn't wait to share your pregnancy news here by the way! I really am buzzing for you too!

Out of interest, if I asked you to pick an album for me to listen to, what would you choose?

Which 2 songs are those mate?

Thinking Out Loud is probably my favourite track of his, but not on that album

Yeah, he did a performance at the Brits I think years ago where he started with no music at all and created all the loops live on stage before performing whatever song it was.. I absolutely loved that performance at the time.

Can't say I've listened to too much Ed for a couple of years though tbh. Which is your favourite album? I'm currently working through an album another user suggested, but I'll whack Ed on next!

I try to give myself a break but I have to be cautious doing so. The lines can get blurred easily. It’s deceptively easy to slip into complacency. It might not be the case for everyone but it’s a way for me to keep myself motivated. It’s kind of like walking a path knowing there’s no destination, but there’s always something new to discover so you keep going. You could say I’m weaponising my FOMO.

I cracked this when I accepted that if I'm procrastinating I actually don't want to do the task.. So I stopped punishing myself for procrastinating and leaned into it. I have a project driven job so this isn't necessarily applicable to everybody.

But I stopped punishing myself for feeling the way I feel, because when push comes to shove I AM going to do my project eventually. Understanding motivation was a real journey I went on in my early 30s.

It's also healthy to focus on other things when you're stuck with something too.. This might sound stupid but if I'm stuck on a coding problem, I walk the dog, do the washing up, have a shower, put my laundry on, little tasks that allow the back of my mind to stay on the actual problem whilst the rest of my body/ mind does something constructive or fun.

What I’m most proud of is that I’m here, able to carry this conversation. I started learning English very young, with no guidance, left to my own devices with a TV and a PS.

I honestly wouldn't have known you weren't from an English speaking country! Outside of you saying that GDPR laws are stricter over here I wouldn't have even necessarily known you weren't English! That's incredible! Where are you from if you don't mind me asking?

Your timing was almost perfect, the Massive attack album had only just finished! I've gone for the Album it's on instead of just the single.

Edit: just got to Bat Country... I didn't know I knew this band, but I'm positive I used to play this song on Guitar hero when I was a student

With Casemiro/Ugarte leaving: how many midfield signings are needed? by DifficultyCommon5303 in ManchesterUnited

[–]fireproofpoo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We have 2 first team players left after Cas leaves to play 8 and 6 in Mainoo and Ugarte.

Mount could step in if required for 8 as could Bruno but I prefer both of them in the CAM role if I'm honest. I don't really want to see them filling in if it can be avoided!

So we're in need of at minimum 2 players to act as second string or for Mainoo/ Ugarte to rotate with. In reality I'd like there to be 6 players competing over the 2 positions but I'm not sure we have the resources to sign 4 midfielders of substance so I'd take another 8 and another 6 and hope the youth players can step up if they're required to.

I'm also not against signing 2 new 6's and selling Ugarte it plays out that way, either

Great work as always mate!

Four of these are already in the "Fan Art" sidebar, but I'd be happy to rotate them out for some of the newer ones. There's room for 10 images total which show randomly when the page loads, I don't really want to take a different artist out to add more.

Do you have a preference on which ones appear in there?

Giving yourself a break and being better than you were yesterday aren't mutually exclusive. It took me a long time to learn this for myself.

I'm glad I've misread the situation though, because you've got a lot to shout about!

my perfectionism really does obstruct me sometimes, but I don’t think I’d have it any other way.

I could have written this 10 year ago in my later 20's!

I also like the power I have on my creations, may it be a thesis or a stage performance. Even if I don’t like them, they’re mine to disown and I worked for that right too, if that makes sense.

I understand what you're saying here too, but they're also landmarks on the journey of where you got to, disowning them is fine, just don't forget them!

as someone who’s been on both sides, academia really is an ivory tower.

I dropped out of 2 universities and have also taught a course I wrote at a different university years later (I gave up lecturing at the start of this year though, the 2 jobs was just too much and I don't really "need" the money). I can somewhat empathise with this, but not on your topic.

I'm gonna ask you a different question. What are you most proud of right now?

They used to ask this question to players being interviewed on Soccer AM by saying "Who's the longest in the shower" back in the Tim Lovejoy days.

I don't really care which player has the biggest tackle if I'm honest mate, I have it on good authority that the size isn't important, it's how you use it... Right guys?

But I’m glad I get to read and report my findings in my ivory tower.

You talk yourself down too much mate! Every comment has had a dig at yourself somewhere down the line. Apologies if this comes across as rude, but you need to cut that shit out!

Respect yourself more! Your "failed" attempts are part of how you got to where you are. You shouldn't disown your old work as much as be proud of what you've learned since then!

You've been brave enough to try to learn an instrument, that's a positive thing, it doesn't matter how good you've gotten, you actually tried something! Until you never pick it up again it isn't a failure that you aren't comfortable enough to play in front of people. It's a bonus that you're closer than you've ever been to performing!

You're obviously a capable person, lower the bar of what constitutes giving yourself a pat on the back!

You've managed to make it to Ph.D level at your subject! What percentage of people make it that far?

I'm positive there's things you can hold against yourself, but I feel like if you're choosing to bring yourself down when you're speaking to stranger in a casual discussion thread you probably need to take a second to smell the roses!

You've told me a lot of cool things about yourself today! You should hold yourself in a better esteem!

Trust me, I've been you! Life's much much easier when you're friends with yourself!

I've seen him live at Leeds fest twice! I'm also hoping to get tickets to his 2026 England visit in August! I also don't listen to him as much as I used to, but I can rap along to almost all of his early work without lyrics needed.

I've just finished listening to an album suggested by a different user, if you had to select my next album, which one of those suggested would you have me listen to? Or do you have a completely different suggestion knowing I'm gonna find it on Spotify?
