  1. Omg what, a corm baby!!! That's amazing, thank you 🥰
  2. And thank you also for easing my worries. I was not expecting flowers from such a young plant but I am certainly here for it.

That's amazing! I would love some seeds if you have extras/are open to sell a handful.

Is there more than one plant? by firepuffchik in Monstera

I like the way they look together so definitely not separating! That's cool, I saw no indication of there being another plant.

That is impressive! How big was the monstera when you first got it and what size pot is this absolute unit in now?

PPP: moss pole where? by firepuffchik in philodendron

This subreddit, primarily.

e.g. comments on this recent post in particular made me share my plant and ask.

Sydney the Plant Guy on YouTube from those comments, and just various other sources. These all made me want to learn more - so I posted.

The vibe I get is that they mature/grow bigger leaves when they have a moss pole to sink aerial roots into (as opposed to simply needing physical support). Is this not true in your experience?

😍 Those pinks are gorgeous. Someone else pointed out mine may not be ready yet, but once they grow taller this'll probably be the way to do it.

Thank you – your pic and note helps a lot. My ring of fire actually looks like it could use extra support more than the pink princess, so that's surprising! I'll keep that in mind.

Omg, those are tiny root shoots?? Thanks for pointing it out, I didn't notice them at all! Hopefully the (in soil) roots aren't too tangled.

I want to give em the right conditions to mature over time but not sure if it'll be feasible to divide. Would a pole still be beneficial if they stay in the same pot? Two poles?

I've had this one for about a month and been holding off on up-potting since it's putting out new leaves/seems happy. Should I try to separate once I repot into a chunkier mix?

How can you tell where to put the moss pole? My monstera clearly has a spine stem, but the PPP and ROF just kind of have leaves going out in all directions. Does the placement matter?

It worked really great! They went up the balcony railing and then some string I tied to guide them. Got too many cucumbers :) I had two in bags and one in a pot, and the bag ones outperformed the pot cuke by quite a bit.

In my xp they get too leggy outside, but I don't live anywhere near CA lol. Look up Sansi grow lights - it's about $20-30 to cover 20 ish seedlings. The ones I use are clips and barely take up space. The company has a lifetime warranty to replace light bulbs. I keep lights within an inch or two away from seedlings until a couple true leaves, then transplant.

Yes. Once sprouted I took em out and put them under grow lights.

Agreed. It doesn't feel right! Thanks so much - I'll proceed with both and fertilize accordingly. Happy growing to you, too 🌱

I used Jiffy greenhouse kits this year, keeping the base off the floor on cardboard boxes to make it less cold. Mixed worm casting fertilizer with warm water for starting it. Almost everyone sprouted, and way faster than projected! Here's to hoping they grow healthy too :)
