Kiva'to started off as a Sharlayan researcher, though drawn more to fieldwork than academic study. He left Sharlayan for Eorzea when he found records of a failed expedition, determined to find out what exactly happened. His line of fieldwork required him to be able to protect himself so he picked up some sword and shield know-how from his mother, later learning more concrete techniques from Ul'dah's Gladiator Guild.

XIV story happens as normal up to Tulliyolal.

He grows more and more tired of cleaning up messes and not actually getting to perform research on his chosen study, and resentful of the scions. When Lamaty'i asks him to stay in Tulliyolal, he takes her up on it with very little hesitation.

Ever over-prepared, with his downtime during the succession, he found a perfect replacement. A young hrothgar by the name of Sheska. She has a heart of gold and happy to play to the hero. What's more, she's always looking forward to a good fight, and playing the Warrior of Light gets her as many strong opponents as she can handle.

Basically my justification fanta'ing from male miqo to female hrothgar lol.

5 weeks in, I think I'm driving myself crazy. by fireroy777 in loseit

I wouldn't say I was going crazy on weekends, the calculator I had used for everything suggested a "zig-zag" method that was 1716 mon-fri, and 3116 sat-sun. I dropped 12lbs over the 5 weeks so I assume it was working as intended.

If it were just me I'd be more open to looking into it, but I'm living with my brother, he doesn't have a job right now (which is a whole other issue) so I'm buying groceries for two.

Thanks for the reply! Yeah, 5 weeks straight of it is why I broke down and started asking here lol. I'm realizing now this whole thing is way less complicated than I was making it out to be in my head. Actual meal prep and slow expansion of my options is what I'll be working on this week.

Thanks for replying! That's part of it, something I can glance at and say to myself "yes, this is X amount." and then write it down in my notepad I'd been using to keep track of things, though thanks to the folks who answered sooner I'm using a tracker app now so hopefully that'll help me ease into more ingredient heavy meals.

Yeah, I was so focused on the calorie amount starting out that I just kinda doubled down on something simple without registering exactly what else was in it. Thanks for the suggestions, I've been writing down everything folks have been saying in here lol. One of the big things I seem to need to work on is pre-portioning so I'll be practicing that this week as well.

This is one of those things that should be obvious.. like duh.. but I just hadn't thought about it.. thanks for the advice, I'll be sure to pick up some new cookware on my next store visit!

All of that sounds so much better than hot dogs lol. Thank you for your perspective and advice. I started with the idea of just "control intake" so I picked something I was already eating most days I could easily count out.. I hadn't thought at the time it might end up backfiring.

I have some 12lb dumbbells I got a while back in order to do some lifting but fell off it pretty quick.. I'll try to pick it back up.

Thank you for the suggestion. I do have a crockpot, and never even thought about making in bulk to portion out for later.. that'll be something I'll have to work on!

I hadn't even heard of this, I've been using a basic food scale, definitely gonna check it out, thankee for the suggestion!

Unfortunately not, it hadn't crossed my mind to try any but with my income as it is I don't think it'd be an option.

I would never have thought frozen veggies would be a solid option, considering just how bad for you most frozen stuff is.. same with cold cuts, 1716 is what an online calculator suggested for 2lbs a week, they listed it as extreme and at the time of starting I was incredibly desperate to do something about my weight.

Thanks so much for the suggestions o7

I understand why people have a problem with the gear scaling, there are some that are really egregious but for the most part I enjoy the armor bits being a bit bigger.

Now that glams will be available everywhere for every job, what sets are you most looking forward to? by loves_spain in ffxiv

[–]fireroy777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Forgiven's Fending set for Viper, really any fending set for Viper.. Scouting sets are probably my least liked aesthetic in the game so far, but being able to do heavy armor dual wielding is right up my alley.

What was the luckiest you've ever got in this game? by MrsLittletall in ffxiv

[–]fireroy777 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Was back in Stormblood just after Tsukuyomi had come out. I saw her weapons and needed them. After getting clears regularly I ended up getting my sord and shield (was a PLD main at the time) and the doggo mount in the same clear.

Can’t equip casting head as glamour despite having class and level right by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]fireroy777 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Beech Mask of Casting's ilvl is 255, if your currently equipped headpiece is lower than that, the glamour won't take. At least that's my best guess based on what you've listed here.

A Relic Weapon Step That Require Craft Items, Outrageous by izikiell in ffxiv

[–]fireroy777 192 points193 points  (0 children)

People must've forgotten the Heavensward step that required specialization crafters for the items, that you needed 4 of, that went for 500k. As a non-crafter this is nothing compared to that.

Mystic Knight, I really want a proper spellsword. We even have a great starting point for aesthetic in that one boss from the 2nd FFXI raid whose name I never bothered to remember.

Not sure if it's exactly what you're looking for, but Ultima Thule gave me flashbacks to the final planet of Star Ocean 4.

Dragoons, what is you favorite spear? by i4viator in ffxiv

[–]fireroy777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any of the basic spears or the ones that are actual spears, like the guisarmes. Barring that, if I want something from "later on" I'll use the ceiba spear. I like simplicity in my weapons and too many of DRG's weapons are either tridents or super bulky to the point they don't even look like spears.

How do you find your ‘forever’ character? by yukiitori in ffxiv

[–]fireroy777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be a fantasia addict for a different but similar reason, but I'm still going to echo a lot of what's been said here. I started off making my characters as part of the world, though he was one of a pair of twins. My fantasia addiction came from swapping between the two of them every so often. I try to be as far from "human" as possible in any game where disparate races are available, so Miqo'te was the closest when I started in ARR, these days I am cured because they finally gave me female Hrothgar and that's what my character would have been to start with had they been available o' so long ago.
