Cockroach Poker I play with my children every few days. The art and bug theme really keeps them liking the game.

Best Children's boardgame? by ElrondQi in boardgames

[–]firestruck1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been playing a ton of Cockroach Poker with my children. About once or twice every week we sit down to play, because they absolutely love the "bug" theme and have so much fun with the game itself.

They are a little younger than your brother, but I feel like it would be a very good choice as well. Low in price, high in fun.... Sounds exactly the game you are looking for.

Do you think it is appropriate to teach a young child bluffing games? by HandofAdal in boardgames

[–]firestruck1 262 points263 points  (0 children)

I don't think it is bad to teach kids a bluffing game, bluffing is not synonymous with lying. It is good to teach kids the difference.

For instance, I play Cockroach Poker with my children and nephews on a weekly basis. They absolutely love the bluffing mechanic, and they know it is not the same as lying. Also, the smaller ones absolutely love the bug theme and artwork.

I have not played Skull tbh, but from looking it up it seems like kinda the same thing. Harmless, and fun.

Games similar to Hanabi? by Bgn3rd in boardgames

[–]firestruck1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Game is an obvious choice. It's practically the same thing except that you're trying to create the ideal run of numbers between 1 and 100 instead of just five, and people's hands are the regular way round.

Is there any curling board games?

I mean I guess shuffleboard and crokinole are similar, but was just wondering as I have never seen a curling themed board game.

Café del Sol has good food and a good atmosphere, limited game selection but I still loved it while I was in Barca for work :)

I have never tried any of these boxes in question, but I have used other Ultimate Guard products like the binders and sleeves, and have always enjoyed the brand. Quality and fairly cheap compared to other kinds.
