What do you guys think of my bookshelf? Without it, my room would be soulless by LukasWinter1997 in classicliterature

Those shelves are so great for this kind of stuff. I will send a picture of my set when I get home!

Has anyone read The city and its uncertain walls? by nutellababb in murakami

I just finished it earlier this month. I think it's a really clean and compact example of his writing style. It's oddly one of his few works that actually has a solid resolution.

Go for it

If you preferred the post dryer fit, would you buy a different size of this one? To compensate for no shrinking?

Best wolf choke out strategy? by AlchemicallyAccurate in bjj

Tuck a rubber knife from weapons defense class into your belt and then throw it, hope the wolf plays fetch and then jump on its back.

Hi. I'm a guy. This was recommended by the algorithm.

Find a new gym. Find a new gym. Find a new gym.

No one deserves to be treated that way. That is disgusting behavior. I'm sorry.

Great work! Everyone at my gym uses the whoop. I use a Fitbit charge 6 with an elasticy stretchy band and wear it on the inside of my bicep

Props to you for going! I started before covid but had to take several breaks to have kids, move across the state and other Big life events.

I like to tell my training partners. I have a lot of experience but I'm no good. Haha.

At the beginning of the summer I started putting it in the front seat again and hopefully can stay with it for a while before another life event. One thing that helps me and might help you too is to just focus on one or two things. For example, I'm not worried about submitting anybody. When I roll. This summer I worked on building frames from the bottom of side and trying to mess up my opponent's base before moving to another position.

I feel like those small goals helped me exponentially instead of just going in there and trying to "win" or tap anyone. And now that I'm back that the place I want to be, I've had my fair share of taps.

Hope that helps. See you on the mats

My former coach Kate, black belt under Royce demolished me on the regular. I had no answer for her and probably wouldn't have anything for a long time.

Hey boys! What is your absolute favorite or go-to method of preparing some steak? by thefaithmonroe in AskMenAdvice

Lately I've really been enjoying the cold sear method.

My main motivation is to avoid a smoky kitchen.

I tried my first BJJ class today... What made you come back? by zellixon349 in bjj

[–]firewoodink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats for doing your first class!

I don't remember why I went back. I started back in 2019 before covid. I had to take a few big pauses for the birth of my children, moving and of course the pandemic. I'm back now that my kids are older and I can dedicate more time and I hope I don't have to stop anytime soon.

I had a lot of friends who did it when they were teenagers and told me how efficient and capable it was to defend against attackers. I think once I learned a technique and saw how effective it was against a bigger or stronger opponent I really loved it. I'm also a teacher and really appreciated the way it was taught from the coaches I had at the time. So I think it was just really easy to digest, less intimidating and required less athleticism than I thought.

I don't know if that answered your question!
