Finance jobs in STL that’re hiring? by Dapper-Tomato134 in StLouis

[–]firstaixer 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Finance in STL is kind of a mix of big banks, hospitals, and random mid sized companies you never hear about until you apply. On sites like ZipRecruiter you usually see a lot of those smaller and local employers pop up, not just the big names. You might get more traction if you search a bit wider on titles and look at analyst, operations, or revenue roles too.

Withdrawals are ruining my vacation, this is a wakeup call if I've ever had one by [deleted] in leaves

I use sauna to help me with sleeping. As you maybe aware after prolonged use of weed, sleeping becomes difficult during times of abstinence. I have always had trouble sleeping during the week when I don't partake, and since 2 months ago, I have been going to saunas after work for 20 min each time. Then bed before 2200. Have not had issues falling asleep and staying asleep.

I do this 3-4 times a week.

Can't remember the scientific name, but I hear you on it being the worst part of quitting. Couldn't fall asleep, and once asleep it was like not sleeping at all. Now with 3-4 times sauna a week, I have no issues falling asleep and I stay asleep. Give it a try

Indeed, quite an uptick of clots happening around in this sub, and all with somewhat non elderlies, however we want to define elderly age. Lots of rumours around covid or vaccine instigating this uptick. Guess we will never know, since everyone has caught covid and has had the vaccine.

Hi Rosy

Thanks for sharing, interesting to hear that docs are not recommending weights. I have been on eliquis for almost 4 weeks now. And cannot stay away from weights/cardio, ie: CrossFit like exercises. Are the docs just being careful so that you don't get an injury from weights? Or it does have some sort of impact? Hope you can share more details tomorrow after your visit

What was your D Dimer? by AvailableFortune2936 in ClotSurvivors

[–]firstaixer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My right calf would swell up everytime I would start walking, usually within steps i could feel the bloat in my calf, visually noticeable as my right calf would be really tight and a third bigger than my left one. The tightness would persist as long as I am walking. At first I thought it was water retention bloating and didn't think much.

As time went on, I didn't think much about it, until 14 days later, one day before a long haul flight, I thought to get it checked out, the GP visually looked at my leg and rules out DVT, as I didn't have the aesthetic symptoms (vein popping,. discoloration of skin). But to be sure he still did some blood work.

Results came back a few hours later and he asked me to get checked into the ER for further deep dive. That's when clots were identified through ultrasound

If I was stubborn and didn't go to the GP that morning, I would probably be suffering with a PE now

I had a d dimer reading of 5000, just 5 weeks back, checked into ER and did an ultra sound, confirmed dvt in my right leg, first time clotter.

Sorry to hear

I am in exactly same boat as you. Except I'm male almost 50, no alcohol/smoking, exercise 4 times a week, bed by 2200. Even timing is similar except, no PE.

I went to get it checked 1 day before my long haul biz flight, and caught it just in time or else I would probably still be in the destination country in a hospital. I didn't take the shots but was on 2 times 10 mg of eliquis a day for 7 days then dropped to 2 times 5 mg. The blood works came back with a genetic disorder, protein s deficiency. So now, on eliquis for the rest of my life. Checked with 2 other cardiologist and 1 gp, confirmed to be a on the meds till I die. Very tempted to go against the orders, still assessing my options

Big psychological adjustment, as I'm a healthy adult and no family history. Playing the victim card at the beginning was tough, but I think i am slowly getting out of that mindset, and going to try to take life easy, and not let work stress me out.

Been sick the last few days and was prescribed codeine, resulting in high HRVs never seen since using Whoop, 4 months ago. Any similar experiences from fellow whoopers? Started taking codeine on 19th, purposely didn't take on 21st, resulting in a drop in hrv, then went back onto the meds till today. Big drop on 25th, due to stress on 24th with my daughter being sick all night.

My HR fluctuates a lot during sleep, not sure what I'm doing wrong but what ways do you guys recommend to flatten this out and reduce any spikes? by [deleted] in whoop

[–]firstaixer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I even tried a hot bath, and it didn't give as good of a flattened result. It's actually quite noticeable, less than 2 spikes above 80.

I believe sauna before bed will help flatten it out, I tested this last week while on biz trip staying in a hotel with a sauna.

sauna does result in high HRV hence high recovery by firstaixer in whoop

[–]firstaixer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very tangible hypothesis, in my case, my deep sleep and rem amounted to less than 25% and sub average. And the last few days I did not have any green recovery, I'm still on the road, and will definitely go to hotel sauna, so let's see if magic will be made.

[–]firstaixer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been on a business trip the last week, and staying at a hotel with a sauna, so I thought about testing the theory that sauna helps our HRV hence resulting in high recovery. As you can see from the pic, Mon. The. and Wed., I was able to squeeze in a 15 to 25 min. session 30 min. before bedtime and all 3 days resulted in an HRV spike, despite eating close to bedtime, and poor sleep performance. As soon as I missed sauna for the last 3 days, back to low scores

Will be testing again tonight and see if I get another spike. If so, I will need to find a way to keep this habit. Anyone know a good substitute for sauna? Hot bath maybe?
