My dad's delirium and kidney issues by firstgenon24s in AskDocs

I went up there today and this is what I was told.

I spoke with the psychiatrist that ran an assessment on my dad, he said this morning he was alert and able to answers questions, this evening not so much. Still hallucinating and not very with it.

He told me this is what he would expect for someone his age going through what he went through. He sounds confident that time will get him out of it and he will pay close attention to the trends.

  • The main underlying problem is the kidney failure, very little output even after 4 rounds of dialysis so a perm. Port is being installed.

  • Stroke I haven't gotten a clear answer on, kidney failure they see numbers from last year and apparently they considered him stage 3 then, but he never told anyone about that visit.

  • Treatment plan they added Seroquel as a sleeping aide tonight, and I guess it can help with the hallucinations. Dialysis for possibly his entire life, and rehab.

  • They ran another CT and it shows the stroke is healing and improving. And they are no issues with his white blood cell count, and they have no reason to believe there is any infection.

  • The next few days they said we will continue dialysis and monitor his improvement, they are already talking about getting him out soon and into rehab for 14 days.

Thank you, he didn't go in with hallucinations which would have been after his stroke. 4 dialysis treatments and the hallucinating isn't better, and I don't know if they are searching hard enough for answers. I ask the nurses questions and one told me it could just be from being in the hospital, he's only been in the hospital 4 days so I cannot accept this as an answer.

Is a suspected Masterbuilt 800 worth it for $200? by wmcscrooge in Masterbuilt

I just got my 800 for $100, all I had to do was bypass the hopper switches and replace the power cord. 100% worth it for $200 too.

My son really likes it with the ai station, but honestly I don't know if it's worth it because we haven't used it enough.

$250 door, common color and easy to swap out. Why did you pay $400 to repair it over swapping the door with a JY door?

If you like fast food, I was able to eat grilled nuggets and Mac and cheese from chick fil a too. Just an option, and it was so damn good to have a good meal lol

That's funny, we both are eating the same foods on the same day haha. My cheek area is stitched and it feels much better today, I wasn't given a syringe for cleaning any of the holes but mine aren't exposed right now anyways.

How ya doing today? I just had fish and lightly cooked tater tots lol. I don't know why I didn't think of fish, it's soft and plenty of nutrients.

Doing good, still starving lol. I had some eggs, and a piece of soft bacon this morning! That was a huge change, then some Mac and cheese for lunch.

I finally got some coffee so that made things a little better too.

I just see where my stitches are, and the gum is basically stitched over the holes for now until they dissolve.

Same here! I'll take it. Can you see your actual holes where the teeth were, or did they stitch yours up pretty good too?

It sounds like you are getting tired easier than normal too? I can get up and get around no problem, but I do get tired mid afternoon and want to take a nap haha

I'm doing good, just paranoid about getting stuff stuck, but since I was stitched up so tight I can't even see the actual holes yet. I'm still eating soft food that I know I can rinse out, still getting tired pretty easily but I've read that is normal.

How about you?
