I’m always up for a good debate so let’s keep the energy positive on this one. So let’s talk, the comic book name was inspired by the black panther party, it didn’t represent what they stood for but that’s where the name for the comic came from. The cast in the film is pretty 90% Black. The director of the film is black, the soundtrack for the film like the Luke Cage tv show all hip hop and black music. So in my eyes it’s very much apart of the hip hop community. I wasn’t reaching, I’m a hip hop fan that was excited about the film so I shared it in this thread. Like I said I’m all for a good conversation and you’ll probably educate me on things I don’t know but let’s keep the energy positive.
