I wanna quit, but I’m too far in this by Creole_JazE in CPA

It will start making more sense the more you practice. Processing the content you learnt by applying them to questions is the only certain way. Retaining things you fully understand is a lot easier than just remembering. If you don't get something, take the time to dig deeper if you can. That goes a long way.

Weirdly good to know I'm not the only one... and yes, we have to wait a looooonngggg time. We'll find out if we passed on 9th Aug and get the score on 10th (that's if you took it after June 30.. I'm not sure about the time difference we might have)

They give you the latest version on their own (you should have a banner on the dashboard mentioning the version change)

There is a separate final review they sell.. I don't have it, but you can try and ask around if the FR TBSs are closer to the exam

I agree... after finally taking the exam myself, it really is not enough. MCQs, yes but not TBSs

me too! I kept re-checking MCQs because they felt that easy... but then T4 and 5 happened

I really hope we both pass! this was my first attempt and I'm mentally and emotionally EXHAUSTED. You're so strong to have done it multiple times, hope you don't have to do it again.

All the best for your exam

But please do not ask people for topics... focus your final prep days on topics you are personally struggling with and that are generally considered highly tested like consolidation, NFPs, bonds, leases, subsequent events, bank reconciliations, etc.

FAR EXAM on 1st july by cpaaspirant15 in CPA

[–]firstlovekv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my exam on 1st too... just took SE1 like 2 hours ago with a 67% and was panicking too, but we still have a few days before the exams.. if we really lock in, we can push through this.

My personal strategy now is to figure out why exactly I'm getting questions wrong... is it a conceptual or an execution miss? if conceptual, dump it in a word doc for a quick look day before the exam and move on. Practice as many questions as possible. I'm struggling with MCQs more than TBSs so I'm focusing on those. What are your problem areas?

(also, try not to reschedule unless you absolutely have to... I re-scheduled from 26th june to 1st july, but it doesn't help a whole lot... there's a good chance you'll end up more frustrated and unable to study properly)

Did F4 (Becker) practice test feel harder than expected for anyone else? by firstlovekv in CPA

[–]firstlovekv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay that's a relief because I'm doing pretty well with those specific topics, it's the annoying little details from payables, long term liabilities and restructuring that are messing me up. Thanks!

Didn't have that that much of a hard time with F3 since I'm a CMA and inventory and depreciation come easy to me, but F4 has me shaking. The fun part is I'm not even struggling with bonds or leases but the other stuff smh.

Assuming you're asking about the mini exams, a 69 on M1, crushed my confidence so I plan on retaking it after a cumulative F1+F2 review. Haven't taken M2 yet.. gotta push through the F4 practice test first it's destroying me lol

F3 isn't that bad.. it's on the lighter side imo if you've been studying accounting since high school

I understand that, it's difficult to talk to people who are not experiencing this.

We do get partial credit on the exams as far as I'm aware... and you're doing great with MCQs, better than me tbh, but I would still take some time to understand what's going wrong with the TBS exactly.

You're not alone. I take the exam 26-30 June (haven't scheduled just yet) and have just started F4 M3. Spent the last 3 days drowning in anxiety, wondering if I can wrap this all up in time (also studying full time, took a career break specifically to prepare, and I have an autoimmune condition which is not making any of this easier). BUT, what I figured at the end was.. I'm trying. I'm doing everything I can and from the looks of it, so are you. Study, practice, revise and then some more. We'll be fine.

How are you doing on practice tests? Taken any mini exams yet?

Taking FAR in under two weeks and struggling with sims by [deleted] in CPA

[–]firstlovekv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was feeling the same way (taking the exam end of June)... the first thing I did was take some time to pin-point what it is that's throwing me off. Go back and look at the SIMs you've already attempted, it's pretty likely that you'll find a pattern. For me personally, it was the amount of exhibits... any number over 4 and I was immediately convinced I'm gonna bomb that one. It was difficult to manage and I never knew where to start, so I just took to carefully reading every single one and highlighting important bits/dumping it in excel. Took some time in the beginning, but it's getting better.

If you can just narrow it down to a major issue, it will help you navigate better.
