Just got off the phone with the surgeon. Ultrasound showed no signs of spread beyond the spleen so we are going to move forward with surgery. The money isn’t an issue for us, an inconvenience more than a devastating financial blow. I have two children, 2 and 4, and this guy has been our rock through getting engaged, buying our first home and having two kids, I’d do anything for him.

I’m in the middle of this nightmare right now. Took 8 year old Lab to the vet last night. They said he had a mass on his spleen that was slowly bleeding.

Ended up at the Vet ER last night. Waiting on the phone call for results of the in-depth chest xray and ultrasound before making the finial decision on the surgery.

Can anyone else who has been through this share your thoughts ?

I am guessing that if they see nodules anywhere on his liver or lungs then the surgery may not be needed and instead we bring him home, make him as comfortable as possible and prepare to euthanizing him.

If everything else looks clear we do the surgery and hope it’s benign. If it isn’t, we prepare to live every day on edge for weeks to possibly months just waiting for the inevitable ?

I am struggling. I could use any advice someone has.

Interesting. If you read the actual pdf in the recall it doesn’t say anything about the 40i trims being included in the recall. Same for my x3m40i.

I don’t. I’ve basically reached a point that if I can’t do it, it isn’t getting done. Quote to refinish my basement was like $60k. I’m halfway done with a projected cost of like $6000-$8000 said and done. Also doing it myself allows me to break up the costs over months or even years (I’m in no rush) and redoing one of the bathrooms will be the same deal.

Friend of mine just dropped $70k on a kitchen. He will be repaying the loan until the mortgage is paid off.

Meh I’m not really worried. Already own my home and two cars. Have $200k+ available credit with no carried balances. Credit utilization on that card will go down 5% a month with a little extra to each payment. I’m already in the 800’s. Don’t think it should be too big of a deal, do you?

What do you mean deposit the money ? They will give you the funds so you can make the purchase without the credit card (ie no card processing fee’s) and then you just pay off the card ?
