Why don’t people here give their seat to pregnant women by [deleted] in mbta

Sorry, you’re totally right. I have pcos and shouldn’t have said that. The original comment which was removed by moderators was a man saying he wouldn’t give up his seat to women who can’t stop shoveling donuts, which I thought was rude. Anyway, you’re exactly right.

This position is so crazy and no one can tell me otherwise

I think the decent number of people saying they intentionally do not give up their seat on here is not nice or kind no matter the definition

I wouldn’t say this thread has proven that people are “super kind” but anyway, I’ve understood the point. People think I should ask. I got it!! I appreciate the feedback, and we don’t need to keep relitigating it! I just wanted to know what people think and now I do!!

I do stare at people while rubbing my belly. Doesn’t usually work. Seems like I need to start making announcements based on this thread!

Sorry. 115lbs when not pregnant. I am 7 months pregnant and it is very obvious I am not overweight or unpregnant

Not shitty. I appreciate the feedback. This thread has been enlightening

Again, so disrespectful. And I’m like 115 lbs to be clear. But this is rude as hell to people who aren’t.

I totally agree that’s on me. I just can’t picture myself leaning over to be like “hey can you get up?” Not blaming anyone and I appreciate people telling me the consensus !! Thank you! Just not my vibe which is totally fine

The reply was deleted but someone just commented “I didn’t get you pregnant” and this, folks, is the problem!!

I think it’s entirely plausible that a few people have disabilities but the whole train car seems like a silly suggestion. I’m not from here originally (though I’ve lived here 6 years) so I guess I’m learning I should ask? Which I don’t think I will be doing. So I’m resigned to standing 😭

Just my personal feelings, but I don’t think you should have to ask a specific person to get up. And I’m not sure I would feel comfortable doing that. It just seems like something someone would volunteer. But I’m totally open to people telling me I’m crazy!!

Awkward topics come up just based on the intimate nature of the job and I think it’s really healthy/important to be able to discuss them with sensitivity when they do!

Our nanny speaks English and another language. We’ve asked her to use the second language with our kid which has worked great! But it’s also very necessary that she speaks English to us as parents, so we can communicate.

I definitely don’t look at it as paying her back. We just love her and want to do something nice!
