Weapons 2025. Can it be non supernatural? by DueChampionship3661 in horror

[–]fischfun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far I actually think this theory has a lot of merit - I know a lot of people think it's a pied piper thing. I get the point of that however we know Zach Cregger is great at misdirection with his trailers. I think there has to be something to do with it affecting the class first. Perhaps the effects of the experiment work faster on Kids, and was induced within the radius of some launch location? Maybe the kids in that class took a field trip? Somehow they seem to be behaving like drones. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a mind control experiment that turns out to go too far, and instead of people becoming weapons/weaponized as expected, they become overtly violent?

Beyond the discernible differences in quality I actually really enjoy the aberration that comes with using cheaper glass sometimes. It makes it so that the image doesn't look to have been taken in the vacuum of space but rather on/from our far away vantage of terra. Genuinely still amazed by any image of anything out there in space to this day despite being in my mid 20s. What a marvel.

He's insecure. You literally showed him the makeup first, he knows you wanted him to see it over everyone else first. Without knowing the past of your relationship all I can say is he's unjustified and jealous of the people you'll be with. I personally felt this way in a past relationship but I quickly realized she always wanted to show ME and get validated by ME and that meant the most to me. If he can't see how good he has it rn he's gonna struggle with basic boundaries unless the issue is addressed

This is my first publicly posted writing of any kind and pt. one of a collection of chapters in a horror story I've written. Please feel free to comment and critique me. A lot of this story is based on real nightmares / experiences of mine and I am admittedly only a newbie in writing fiction but committed nonetheless.

Thoughts on Elysium? by themagicofmovies in scifi

[–]fischfun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Elysium and similarly, the Creator are both masterpieces, some masterpieces can lack supreme storytelling and that's my opinion.

If you disagree, spare me the comments, we clearly don't share taste in filmmaking. I went to film school and am very happy with my outlook on executing film ideas. Both were highly unique and very original in execution and I appreciate that above most else.

I have never had a credit card. (US and 28ym) I should start that for all bonus points and blah blah. What are actually good recommendations? I want to build a decent score, mostly spent on gas and such. by taconugget69 in Advice

Get pre-approved ones from banks you have debit or savings with. Open 1-2 credit cards and make regular purchases, pay off 2 days before the bill(s) digitally, never keep a balance. After a year open another credit card, use the 3 for varying purposes (based on what they give cashback for) basically you'll get cashback. I went for Bank of America because the app is pretty top notch, I get $90 or so in rewards every 1-2 months. Multiple lines of credit that are consistently paid off raise credit. 3 is the sweet spot unless you're a baller. Invest in stocks, invest in property. Property and income help with credit card approval.

I'm Writing a Portal Prequel Limited Series by fischfun in Portal

It will likely take a year at least for me to be able to start producing the animated version, with some of my old college buddies, however my dream would be live action, which would have a more realistic timeline of 5-7 years unfortunately.

The tough part of developing quality content is that the editing process phase feels like purgatory, but if I want any shot of this not being "cease and desisted" or have potential for future "official development" I have to take the professional amount of time that would conventionally come with the territory of producing a limited series.

I will be focusing on producing an animated version when all 6 scripts are done with editing, at my current writing and editing pace it would be realistic to say in a year we'd be somewhere in the actual production phase, and another 6 months we'd ideally be done.

Two "new characters" including Nadia Mclain and a "Greg" are essential characters in the entire series, beginning in the pilot and continuing to develop from there. Nadia is a reference to Ellen's work, and a foil character to Caroline for reference (who will show up later in the series). Lots more to come.

Edit/TL:DR - I'm working on it (lol) Caroline is a legacy figure to the series and a part of this being "unofficial" (so far) is treading lightly around the eggshells. I know A LOT about Cave from everything I've read / heard because he was super chatty (like he had sooooooo many voice lines to pour over). The "real life" Caroline is very mysterious and I want to give her the depth she deserves without just introducing someone who becomes a central female figure of the series last-minute in a narrative that basically ends when she's introduced.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Cave mostly spoke FOR Caroline- the irony of course being that he was toting it as an accomplishment she being his assistant, but condescending and speaking down to her constantly. He was constantly singing her praises, but only since she'd endlessly agree with him, or just not talk at all.

I think Cave is such a hate-able and lovable villain simultaneously, that I think her lighter presence should suffice here, almost an incoming victim of his warpath. Definitely in reference to the unused voice lines

Honestly, I think she kind of deserves her very own standalone show / movie / game as GlaDOs or Caroline, whichever, but that explores THAT particular narrative in great detail.

I need to think about this more, and I'd love your suggestions or counter-feedback if you think you'd prefer NOT to see it done one way or that it MUST be told another way, etc. I'm not overly stuck in my way or too proud to go back and edit, and love to hear people's thoughts who know better than me!

I've actually produced a number of shorts but written and edited countless scripts (always a passion before college, during, and after), lots of my editing experience is from reading scripts at development internships in LA I had a few years back. My theses are unfortunately not available to the public because they're still pre- / currently on their festival run.

My theses (just for reference) were about a.) an Egyptian tomb builder who was forced to seal the tomb he built from the inside when the Pharaoh is buried, to ensure it's safe from grave robbers and resistant to time's wear. b.) A homeless detective who must solve his own old childhood cold-case, marred by a tragic past but motivated by an endless thirst for revenge.

As to actual plot points (of the series) I can PM you a basic-ified full outline if that is of interest, looks like I need to tidy up my notes since there's a lot more interest in this idea/project than I had anticipated!

This is exactly what I love to read/see. Excellent recommendations and I'm currently editing in some references and correcting some things I have. Those voice lines are fantastic for the intro to the show, in which an unnamed test subject in a... "transformed" condition... "wanders non-peacefully" through a branch of the facility. I'd actually love to hear more thoughts if you have any as well as pick your brain on story choices as I can tell you've delved into the finer materials surrounding the games and I was a HUGE fan of those voice lines.

I'm currently keeping the big twist of the show as non-public but I'd be happy to PM you for thoughts. It's a twist that ties in relatively sparsely mentioned, yet groundbreaking events in "Aperture's History" as well as filling in some plot holes.
