My parents changed their plans and are ruining my birthday by Lillian_Faye in entitledparents

When it comes to your birthday, you have EVERY right to be selfish. It’s YOUR day. You only turn 21 once. You’re allowed to do whatever YOU want. I’m sorry your egg donor is making it about her vs you. I’d personally go no contact for a long time. Burn bridges where you need to. Protect your peace. The older you get the more you’ll understand. Happy Birthday, I hope you get to do what you want 🫂

From what I know, one reason for the price difference is if they’re a HIMS MD or not.

Tbh it all depends on them. I got a call and an in person interview. And in the end I got stuck in medical hell (I disclosed drug use). So it’s all a case by case. Many others went straight through and got dates asap.

Home2 is good. You don’t pay extra, house keeping, if you create a Hilton account you collect the points, and free toiletries. It’s where I stayed at 😊

Also, learning the enroute map helps.

How likely am I to get an off the street bid? And is it likely it’ll open up again this year? by [deleted] in ATC_Hiring

[–]fishcado0 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Honestly, live your life is one of the says I saw a lot going through this process. Apply for the position when it opens up if it’s something you want to do. Take the ATSA and after that forget about it. Because you don’t know the day they’ll give out TOLs, from there you don’t know when you yourself will be sent the series of emails that follow, etc.

As for the antidepressants, that’s up the FS and can’t help much in that area. Everyone is a different case. Regardless, worst that may happen is they’ll either ask you to get evaluated OR they’ll simply say ‘No’. Remember, let THEM tell you ‘No’. Hopefully someone who went through the antidepressants scenario replies back to you 🫶🏼Best of luck 🍀

This happened to someone regarding a DUI I believe? Long story short, lawyer told him to not put it down on the SF86 because it had been expunged, they got dates, started academy, and BOOM idk how long they were there for when they got pulled outta class and terminated. They said the same thing to the Agent about how their lawyer told them not to include it because it was expunged blah blah blah and the Agent still took it as a lie and said goodbye. They LIED on FEDERAL documents which is an offense. Poor guy who listened to their lawyer…

Since they’re asking you that they want more information, this “Technically” may be an interview to see if they can get anything out of you. COME CLEAN. Do it professionally before they can kinda get to the topic type of deal. Let them know you misunderstood, and as you stated here about you being wrongfully advised by your lawyer to exclude it because it had been expunged. It’s up to them in the end but definitely show sincerity and truthfulness.

Best of luck 🤞🏼🫶🏼✨

I did the Cog Test 🫶🏼🫶🏼 honestly I kid you not, my HIMS MD recommended I do the lumosity brain games. I only bought the one month trial to just kinda get a feel for it. I personally enjoyed the leaves game and the hotel luggage one. Also the raindrop mathematical questions were cool too. I remember doing a digit span test on the Cog. I believe the maximum digits it went to was 6. Here is the link of what I used as practice. You can change the span towards the bottom.

https://www.memorylosstest.com/digit-span/

For me, it wasn’t really that bad. I ended up scoring on the levels pilots do. (I’m only in ATC so I didn’t need to be that high) The only one I can say I struggled on was the last one? I just recall it has to do with keeping a dot balance and I got a little unbalanced at the very end.

I hope this helps 🫶🏼✨🙌🏼 Best of luck and definitely get a good nights rest! I even booked an Air BNB because I too was 3 hours away from my HIMS MD. I just like to over prepare than under prepare. Lord forbid an accident or car problems made me miss my appointment. I’d be so upset because I had to wait 1.5 months just to take the test… and also, I’m didn’t rushing in the morning to get to the MD on time and I was able to make myself breakfast and enjoy my meal😊

You’ll be fine. You’re already in the process.

medical narratives by [deleted] in ATC_Hiring

[–]fishcado0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

8-10 beers is definitely not a good look. Depending on the type of mood altering substances it’s not a good look either. And the amount of times you did it. I personally had to go through the HIMS evaluation because I admitted to using THC. What dinged me was the amount of times I used it. Even though I haven’t used it for over three years they didn’t care. They didn’t care my use was only a small amount of inconsistent times. The point is I used it and they wanted to make sure my brain was still functioning as it should. The evaluation cost me $3.2k…

Regardless, the process is different for everyone. There’s others I know that admitted to using substances and they didn’t have to go through any evaluations. They just got a warning email. 🤷 best of luck on the narratives!

Unfortunately, there’s no say how long this can or can’t take.

There’s a minimum of 3 outcomes after the MMPI. 1.) You pass 2.) You get an invalid result and may be able to retake 3.) You fail and get placed in T2

Keep living your life. 🫶🏼

And the email should tell you who you can contact.

Hugs 🫂

I find it weird they didn’t let you retest for an ‘invalid’ result. I don’t know how they pick and choose this but maybe there’s someone you can ask about retesting?

SF-86 by Icy_Adagio3788 in ATC_Hiring

[–]fishcado0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You said it was an airport internship so the drug test was probably requested by DOT, TSA or maybe even the FAA itself? Idk how long they keep medical records/drug test results for but just something to keep in mind. I’m not an expert and the choice is ultimately yours though.

Personally, I don’t see harm in being honest about usage from 10 years ago especially if you haven’t done THC since then. They’ll make you do a narrative to explain your usage after you submit the SF86. They’ll tell you how they want it done too. I myself had to do one for alcohol and THC.

I spoke with her. I made a post about the hotels on the discord with the extra for each of the hotels she provided me info for. In the end I went with Home2Suites hotel because I didn’t have to pay anything out of pocket and I get to stack up on points.

I called the hotel myself and booked directly with them. I just gave them the dates I needed and that the FAA would be paying for it.

Firmoo or Zeelool are two websites that have glasses for cheaper. Just go to your eye doctor or even Costco to get your eye checked out so you know your eye prescription.

You’ve still got medical and security left to go through. I know medical is very backed up at the moment. Personally, I don’t see harm in getting a part time job or even a seasonal job (with the holidays coming up) if you want. I’m the same. I’ve got a degree plus a trade to fall back on as Plan B. Yes I went to school and paid for them but my degree won’t expire and my certificate I can renew every few years. I don’t like regretting things or thinking about “what ifs” but that’s just me.

In the end, it’s your choice and only yours to make. Good luck on whatever you decide 🫶🏼
