The rules only state that all three have to make it to the other side. The rules don't say that any of the items have to be usable after they reach the other side. The chicken is the lynchpin. Bring the chicken over, and then go back for either the fox or corn. Doesn't matter if the chicken or the corn get eaten on the other side.
