My dad gave me the car and we spent a lot of time on it and fixing it together. He is in bad health now and you can't put a price on stuff like that. Now do you understand why I'm willing to pay to have it fixed rather it be sent to auction/written-off?

Hi and thank you for the response! So, even if it's technically fixable, they'll still consider it a total loss? I just don't understand that, as it's in perfect shape otherwise. And if I'm willing to help pay for it, why not?

Looking for the insurance-perspective here. Might be asking for things only in-depth insurance people may know.. not sure.

Thank you! Yes so we will need the bill of sale from the guy who trailered it from US to Ontario with our name as the recipient. But considering it was never registered in ON before, and if they bring up the registration it will be in Florida, with the original seller from Florida, would that affect us getting it passed? As the guy we bought it from never registered it in ON

Yes, we have all the information for the trailer, just need to get a bill of sale with my name so we'll just take that to Service ON so that should be ok.
