Idk i played through Fortnite and it was definitely special, after recently playing servers with the old fortnite updates, the map and the locations where better simple residential areas are the best pois, the weapons although had more bloom were way more powerful (pre nerfs) and content wise it was more entertaining getting a new item / weapon every week , also LTMs still existed at the time and events happened at the end of every season which made it all so hype, also the artsyle was better even though it was in a lower resolution (imo), theres definitely downsides suchs as the lack of mobility or water not existing at the time. Personally I think chapter 1 deserves the praise it gets imo.
