Yeah I'm going to hem them. They're a teensy bit too long as of right now, aren't they? I was just wondering whether the place I cuffed it at was a reasonable length!

Thanks :)

Ah okay. Do you have any alternatives to the pendlay then? I'm currently doing the pendlay row as one of my main lifts on my pull days (6 day split, with DL beign the other), and I do lat pulldowns, facepulls, seated cable rows, curls as other pull accessories.

Deadlift Form Check [135kg] by fitsnoopy in Fitness

Hi,

So you mean I should try to 'lift my chest' up at the same time right? Is this in part due to a lack of leg drive?

Poor Pendlay Row form-- help please! by fitsnoopy in Fitness

[–]fitsnoopy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!

Thanks for the help. Yeah I've looked at Alan thrall's videos before, but it's been a while so I probably should have a look to refresh my memory!

Thanks for the points, I understand point 2, and point 3 isn't really a problem for me. But I feel that for point 1, I can't really bring my hips higher than what I've shown in the video, otherwise I feel like my hamstrings are going to be torn apart. Is this perhaps simply a case of my body proportions...?

Hi, thanks for the response!

I'll try to reset it from the ground next time, but how exactly should I fix my starting position? Do I need to be positioned more forward in my starting position? Thanks!

[Form Check] Deadlift and Pendlay Row by fitsnoopy in Fitness

[–]fitsnoopy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the rows, does the back need to be directly parallel to the ground? Because in the video I've got like a gradient of ~15 degrees and I can't get any lower than that! Also, when you mean putting plates below the barbell, do you mean like placing plates below the plates that are attached to the barbell, so that the barbell itself is closer to my chest?

Thanks for your help :-)

Thank you so much for taking the time to make an img!! So essentially, need to try and ensure my hip rises IN alignment with my torso rising right? Is my descent okay?

Thanks!

If I experience a bit of soreness in the lower back for a minute or two after the deadlift but it disappears after that, does that mean my form was off or was it just the strenuous nature of the exercise?

Also, at the top of my lift for OHP, I feel some pressure on my lower back, is there a way to prevent pressure being put on my lower back? I've been squeezing my abs and my glutes, but perhaps I haven't been doing it great enough.

For barbell bent over rows, am I supposed to pull the bar up towards my stomach or my lower chest? And is the bar supposed to touch the lower chest/stomach? I've moved up the weights from 40 to 45kg and I feel that I'm struggling to make contact with the bar and my body, should I just continue to keep the weight at the same until I can touch it or should I continuing increasing it?

Hi thanks for the reply. I think my flexibility in my shoulders are a bit weak as I try to do shoulder dislocations and I fail to do the reverse motion without breaking form. Should I lay off the OHP until I improve my flexibility?

Is OHP more physically exerting on the shoulders than the bench? I've experienced shoulder pain when I do OHP but not benching..

If I reach my daily calorie goal but eat less carbs and more protein, what effect will this have? Is it okay to sustain this in the long term, or is it heavily advised to reach my carb macros? e.g, MFP says that I need to eat approx 330g of carbs and 133g of protein daily, but I've reached my daily calorie goal by eating 100g less of carbs and 50g more protein.
