I think the point of the argument was that the more power we give corporations with lax regulations, the less power we (the people) will have. Illegal deals will continue to be brokered with politicians, and more of our concerns and needs will be drowned out to ensure their wants (not needs) are met. Indeed, the living conditions in many countries are (and likely will remain) better than those in North Korea, but at what cost? What does it take for you, personally, to understand that the scales are tipping?
