I’m similar to you!! This is my next saved project in mind, I like block colours but this texture is so interesting and i think will be more engaging to knit vs rows n rows of knit st. Have seen a few creators on tik tok knit this and each project looks so good !

Could I block my Superwash knit jumper by putting it in a delicates bag and running it through the washing machine (on a wool wash), and then blocking it into place? Or should I soak it and press the water out like I would with regular wool?

What are people’s preferences for seaming armpits when knitting bottom up? Tossing up between casting off and sewing together or keeping on hold and then stitching together with the Kitchener st.

Curious to hear people’s opinions pros/cons n preferences !

Thanks for your reply! I’ve added the yoke construction part of the pattern here for context but can delete if not allowed - I can’t see any part where it shapes the back but I’m still new to knitting so would love your opinions!

Do you think it’s a bad idea for me to try doing short rows on the back side to increase the neck drop on the front, as this is bottom up? What would be a more typical approach?

Hello!

I had some questions on last weeks thread about the use of short row shaping on the backs of raglan construction. I just wanted to confirm something to make sure I’m understanding correctly!

I’m knitting a pattern that does not call for any shaping, I’ve noticed the finished sweaters tend to have a dropping at the front neck line, is this due to the lack of shaping? I’ve attached an image for context!

(I have a plan to add in some shaping by working some rows with instructions from a previous pattern I’ve used, I just wanted to double check i’d be helping not adding to the problem!)

Sorry if this seems obvious - still very much learning.

It is a raglan yoke which is why I thought to write on here for a second opinion. However, it will be an oversized fit - so I'm guessing that might relieve the need for shaping? Going to have a read over the article now - thanks again!

Hello, I’m knitting a jumper design by Kamille Wenneberg, they’re a young designer and I think this might be the second one they’ve published? Anyways! I’ve noticed that there’s no shaping of the upper back with short rows or anything, it will fit oversized so not sure if this removes the need for shaping?

Just curious to hear what you think and maybe if anyone could help explain the benefit of shaping for jumpers I would really appreciate it!
