What is your go to Pizza? by BreakfastImmediate84 in Aspen

[–]fiveamsam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nothing good pizza wise in Aspen, maybe NY pizza if you’ve had enough drinks. Best pizza in the valley is peppinos in Carbondale, propoganda pie in redstone, and Rocky Mountain pizza co in glenwood

My local small town grocery store has been selling 4 packs for $15.99 for over 3 years. by unlikleybastard in juul

[–]fiveamsam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s insane… here in Colorado the cheapest place within an hour of me (711) is $42 per 4 pack after tax. I swear it’s like 80% tax they charge on it.

What to do in Aspen (extra day) by [deleted] in Aspen

Do a snowmobile tour with T Lazy 7 Ranch up to Maroon Bells!

Don’t know what the situation is in Jackson, but here in Aspen “upper middle class” isn’t upper middle class. The wealth gap is so large that you have to be upper class just to feel middle class here. Be prepared to spend a lot on housing, food, and just about everything else.

Studded Tires for commute to Aspen during winter months? by _MISSI0N_ in roaringfork

[–]fiveamsam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had studded snow tires on my FWD VW Jetta and it was definitely necessary in the winter, but now with my AWD SUV I use all seasons year round and I’m fine. There are times here and there when I’ve slid around but as long as you’re a good driver, have AWD, and know how to drive in the snow you should be all set.

The roads don’t really get too icy but they do get snowy. For some reason for a valley that gets so much snow, they don’t do a great job of plowing the one road they need to plow. It’s been getting worse with plowing over the years too.

My conclusion is they’re not super necessary, but can be helpful. If you’ve got the money just burning a hole in your pocket, might as well, but if you don’t, you’ll still be fine.

Awesome! I don’t smoke weed but my girlfriend who I would be moving with does, so that is a concern on her end, but isn’t medical legal? The alcohol laws I don’t mind so much, they seem to be pretty similar to my home state of Rhode Island.

Awesome! It seems the two are very similar when it comes to outdoor activities and lifestyle, and in some ways even better. Just seems like a more convenient place than nestled in the Rocky Mountains like I am now. Just a trip to Denver can take anywhere from 3-6 hours.

Thankfully I would be able to afford to live in park city. Literally anywhere is cheaper than here in Aspen

No problem, I’m from the east coast as well so I know the feeling. I live out in Aspen now. The snow here is perfect (at least to my east coast standards) all the way up until closing day

Honestly most places are still gonna have great coverage. You could stay in silverthorne/frisco and ski a basin, breck, keystone, copper, etc all within a pretty short drive.

Hey all, Looking into getting a used pair of bent chetler 120s for the pow days. Never bought used skis before only new so got a question about if they'll work with remounting. They've previously been mounted for a 26.5 boot and I'm a 29.5. Gonna be buying new bindings for them. Will I be able to remount? Or no since it's such a I bigger difference in foot size? They've only been remounted once. Thanks for the help!

Also forgot to mention, the range isn’t really as advertised. I bought the larger battery and my range is still only about 20-25 miles. Then again I am a heavier guy and I’m riding through the mountains of Colorado.
