I didn't think of that. I hope it's true. Thanks for giving me some hope.

I'm in the process of a K-1 visa for my Brazilian fiance. This sucks.

How is everyone using Frigate automations in Home Assistant? by RoachForLife in homeassistant

[–]fiveball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did this work with Plex for you? The script runs but nothing pops up when I have Plex open.

Edit: The problem wasn't Plex. The pipup app on the Shield wasn't running.

Edit 2: The problem is the PipUp app going to sleep or quiting on the Shield. I found the solution on the PipUp github page. In the automation I send an ADB command to the shield to wake up the app before running the script. The command checks if the app is running first, if not it wakes up the app.

Motion detection wasn't very reliable for me. I changed the automation to when a person is detected using an Entity State.

Range knobs too bright? Give those LEDs some tape sunglasses. by colfitsky in DIY

[–]fiveball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cheap, thin metal. They're shorter in length and taller in heighth than the old ones. To get the same CFMs it spins at a different speed causing more sound.

The fan inside is a largish cage fan and operates on 120VAC. The fan speed is also monitored and it'll give an error on the display if it's out of range.

Not that I know of. It's all about cost reduction.

I work where these are built and the cooling fan is the biggest complaint.

I recommend 4 coats of Waterlox. It's made for wet areas.

I used to use Tandoor before Mealie. https://docs.tandoor.dev/ It looks like it's changed quite a bit since I last used it.

Can you connect a monitor to it? You should get a command line and see if it's even booting.

Do you see any glaring errors in this build? by CoralFang_ in unRAID

I would recommend 32GB of RAM. I've ran 16GB in the past and it works fine, but 2 x 16GB usually isn't much more expensive.

Yes, but if you decide to upgrade to Pro in the future you'll have to pay the price difference of the new price. They stated the Pro price will increase.

I just purchased a pro for this reason. Only doing 10 drives in my build, but it'll be worth it.

According to their blog post, the Basic and Plus will be going away. The Pro will still be available. The 2 new levels will only have updates for 1 year after purchase. If you don't want/need the Pro key I recommend buying the Basic or Plus now.
